Why do we die? What happens at death? What is the hope for our dead loved ones? Who has not wondered about these questions? Is death a puzzle that can be solved? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why do we die? Death is genetic. We inherited it from our first parents. Adam and Eve, our first parents, disobeyed God and lost the privilege of living forever and they passed death on to their offspring. What happens at death? Death is the opposite of life. There is no more life when someone dies. The dead cease to exist except in one's memory but not only in our memory but in God's memory. What is the hope for our dead loved ones? The hope of the resurrection is the hope for the dead. I counted the word resurrection and it is found in the Bible some 40 times and there are about 9 examples of people being brought back to life. Resurrection is God's way of conquering death. God has the power to raise the dead back to life, either in heaven or on earth.
