Cats Will Be Cats and Do As They Please

One day long ago I was writing a post for some site about Spanish moss. I was out with my camera on my Templeton property taking pictures of it, since there's always an abundance of it in the trees. At that time my neighbor's cat Sarah used to follow me around, as she was doing this day. (I sure miss her.)
When I saw this long rope of moss hanging from a tree right over the driveway, waving in the wind, I was sure it would tempt Sarah to play with it. After all, cats usually like to chase or attack moving things within their reach. I was ready with my camera, waiting to get a photo or a video of her playing with that long rope of Spanish moss. So, of course, she ignored it. As you can see, she is busy grooming herself. Maybe she's primping, but I don't think so.
I'll always wonder if she waited until I and my camera went inside and then decided to attack the waving moss.
Can you think of a time your pet or someone else's didn't behave the way you had expected? What's the strangest thing your pet ever did?

@bagarad It was a nightmare because my bath water was really hot and slippery and naturally the cat was freaking out and kept falling back into the water and I was getting clawed by the poor frightened thing until I wrapped her in my bath towel and the4n I was able to pull her out of the water and get her some dry towels. She slept on my bed that night and woke up her normal frisky self.

Mine have done many strange things over the years. Too numerous to mention. But several years back I had a horse get stuck in a round bale feeder. We had to cut the round bale (metal) feeder to get her out. I would still like to know how she got on her side and half ways through the bottom opening.

That's a new one. Did the horse get out unharmed?

@bagarad Yes we got her out without cutting my fingers off. I had my hands right under where we were cutting to keep her still. She was stiff for a few days.

My cat is very photogenic but times when I want to capture a certain pose she moves from it. She is probably grooming herself. Sophie does that too. Sarah likes or liked you so she wanted to follow you around and see what you are up to.

@bagarad you are right. I wasnt happy because it wasnt the only thing he did. He tore the edge of our bed. I put him in the crate whenever i left. But after a year of doing that, i finally leave him free roaming the house. He finally gets matured. Now he doesnt do anything. He knows the right place to pee and poop.

Some things cats do are predictable, like running into the kitchen when they hear a can opener at mealtime or jumping into your lap when your are trying to read or type. And I've met a few dogs that don't always behave.
