Intestines are our second brain

I have recently read this book "Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ" and it was a really nice surprise. The author Giulia Enders decided to study medicine because of a serious skin problem that she had at age of 17 and that only resolved when she realized that the origin was in the intestines. According to her, intestines have their own intelligence, which puts them at the level of the much admired brain. The book uses very simple language and very informative drawings to explain, for example, the ideal position to be seated in the toilet, (it is tilted forward and with the feet on a stool) because the intestine becomes more straight and the effort is less, thus avoiding the formation of hemorrhoids and diverticulosis. I have introduced more probiotic food in my diet and I already eat a lot of veggies and fruit, if we eat right intestines can help us to live longer and healthy. Have you read this book? Are you aware of the intestines' importance?

Yes, I read about this in an article by Dr Mercola. He wrote about many mental disorders that can be caused by bad bacteria. I take a capsule from Neolife.com that has 5 good bacteria that all have e special place in our intestines.
