Stopped at the Buffet

Seems I cannot go out and not stop at the $5.00 lunch buffet. It is all home cooked food. I have told you all about it many times. Today was no exception.
Even with the rain coming and the winds howling, you still have to eat. I had meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, green beans, field peas with bacon, potato salad, homemade yeast roll, and peach cobbler with soft serve vanilla bean ice cream! Yes, all for $5.00. They had so much more I cannot name... fried chicken, lasagna, stuffed bell peppers, and the list goes on and on.
Today I did not clean my plate. Could not eat as much as usual. But I got my $5.00 worth for sure. Now I am done for the day.

I used to like it a lot back when I could eat a whole lot but now I don't eat as much so it's become too expensive @playertwo

Ever since you have been posting about this buffet, I have wanted to go to Country Cookin, the place I told you about that is similar..Fortunately, or unfortunately, there is not one too close to here.

@Janet357 Every day. But they will have special nights too, like for Valentine's Day they have a steak dinner for two for like 19.99. And they also have a regular menu. I never mentioned that because I never thing about looking at it! They have hamburgers and other things as well.

That is very inexpensive and reasonable, it would cost anything from 15 to 20 dollars on a good buffet here.

@playertwo yes it is and it's home cooking, they most probably own the place so they don't pay rent and or they raise and grow some of the things they serve. They might also be banking on a large customer base so they settle for small profit but volume.

We had calzones for lunch. Other half had an Italian one I had steak cheese and mushroom.

Oh Carol I would go creazy If I were there. I love when I see all those kinds of dishes to eat. I love eating! I wonder, if somebody wants to keep the leftovers, are they able to take the food with them?
