Fed -Ex is Making Me Crazy and Frustrated

Yesterday we were expecting a delivery from Fed-Ex. I ordered an 8-foot ladder from Walmart so that we could clean the green off the gutters on our house. At 3:59 I got a message telling me that the ladder had been delivered at 3:22 on our front porch. Since we were sitting in the living room and we have a picture window to our front porch that didn't seem possible.
We went out to check, no ladder. I found the order number and the tracking number and went in search of a number to call Fed-Ex. I found a number and after answering the questions three times the message kept telling me the package had been delivered. I hate automated messages, it ended up disconnecting me three times so I was forced to go back and answer the questions all over again,
On the fourth try, I finally got a person and they took my information and said they would open a ticket about my lost ladder. I explained that I get deliveries several times a week from the USPS and UPS and I never have an issue.
When the call ended I went in search of a number to contact Walmart.com. I got a person on the first try and she was wonderful. She is sending me another ladder, evidently, they must not have a lot of faith that Fed-Ex will figure out where the driver left my ladder.
I am not sure now when I will get my ladder. If I end up with 2 ladders I will just have to call them and they can arrange for a pick-up. I am so frustrated, I have no intention of paying (I have already been charged) for an expensive ladder that I have not received.
I order things online from Amazon, QVC and Walmart on a regular basis, this is the first time I have had an issue. I have to say that I have no faith what-so-ever in Fed-Ex. At Christmas time they did something similar to my daughter and when they described where they left the package it was obvious that it was not her house. I did give them a description of my house now in great detail so hopefully, the driver will admit that he made a mistake.

Ugh, that sounds like such a frustrating time.
When that ladder arrives, I suggest that you use it, and then put the word out that you've got one to loan out so that the neighbours don't have to go thru this.
I used to laugh at my husband and call him the ladder king, he loves them, we have all sizes and shapes of them. Our neighbour was always coming over for a ladder, and even the guy on the other side of him would walk over and ask to borrow one of them different times.

Extremely frustrating for you. I hope that it gets solved SOON.
Reminds me of that time when SEARS delivered 2 patios sets, we called them and they picked one up, but they kept charging us our monthly statement. My husband was furious and it took a long time to get this settled.

The drivers need their GPS systems updated. Last year I subscribed to a food delivery service. Fed Ex was the one in charge of delivering it to me. Twice, TWICE they sent it to the wrong place, an address essentially right behind me. I called and complained, told them that the food was a perishable and that I was very put out. The lady was very understanding and I told her she'd better expedite this, that I was fed up.
Actually, the first mis-delivery was not mine, but a family member's. The first item was a computer that should have been signed for. The second was my food box. The resident who actually received the items was courteous enough to get in contact with us and we went to pick up the items
Fed Ex needs to get their act together

@BelleStarr This person wasnt' technically a neighbor. They live in a neighborhood that was built above ours just a few years ago. It connects to ours, but that's it. Anyway, I believe fed ex contacted them and gave them one of my family member's numbers.
I [i[really[/i] do hope that you will be able to find your ladder. Honestly, you could sell the other if you do end up finding the one.

My mailbox has our name and our number, it should not really be an issue and I did not see our box at the neighbors house either.

Fed-Ex is horrible, and screw up my deliveries all the time. Whenever I order something online, I try to find out who the shipping company is. If it's Fed-Ex, I will ask them to use another shipping company, even if it means I have to pay a little more. If I can't switch shipping companies, sometimes I'll just cancel my order. Yes, Fed-Ex is that bad. They have a big distribution center right there in Ocala, so you'd think they could handle getting deliveries from that DC to my address less than 30 miles away. But nope, they lose my packages every time!

Now I have two 8 ft ladders and I have to have a pickup from them. It means I can't go anywhere until it gets picked up.

@BelleStarr Well bummer! I hope they come pick up that second ladder quickly so you aren't stuck sitting there at home.
Did they give you a window of time in which they would arrive to do the pickup? Knowing FedEx, they probably told you: "We'll be there sometime between 10:00am on Thursday and the year 2024." LOL

That is maddening, and especially when you are right there just waiting for the delivery and they don't even bother to knock on the door to check they have the right house (although of course they didn't come to your house anyway). I hope you get at least one soon!

@BelleStarr Funny, Iz, but at least it didn't take weeks for that fed ex driver to figure out which house he took your ladder to.
I don't need another job, but thanks for thinking of me, lol.

Deliveries are getting worse and worse about getting items where they need to go. I hope you get your ladder soon. I sent a gift to my daughter in law and it said it was delivered but she didn't have it. She lives in an apt and usually pkgs go to office. Driver just left initials FD on the paper which mean front door. He left it at the wrong apt door, we didn't find it for a week. Why would you leave a pkg at an APT door and not a front desk office. They are so dumb!

We have had Fed Ex guys but so far so good. Once they locate where our house is then it becomes easy for them the next time.
So did you have two ladders? (lol) .
