Have you ever seen a pillow made out of men's ties? You have now. The photo I used for this post is a pillow made out of my father's ties.
After he passed away I pieced together this pillow using his ties that he used to wear to work. It was done as a memento of him.
I made this pillow 23 years ago and have used it as a decorative pillow in one of my rooms ever since.
My girls all would love to have this pillow. I think I will be giving it to my youngest daughter, she named gave her second son his middle name.
Do you have any mementos of a parent that has passed that you want to leave your children?

This is my 1st time to have seen a pillow made out of a man's ties.
Interesting !
My former boss who is an arty person (And I have a feeling you too are), was asked by a friend whose son passed to make simple teddy bears out of his shirts, to be given away to the grandchildren.
I am not an arty person, but I wonder if my teenage daughter would be open to wearing my mother's blouse. I still have been using them to make me feel that she is still with me

We did that with my husbands mom shirt when she passed and my daughter had a pillow made for me with my sons chef shirt after he passed away because I put him through culinary school. They are such precious memories, I love your dads tie pillow.

I have quite a few of my dad's things. Particularly I have his rosary.
My mother has made pillows out of shirts. My daughter had a t-shirt in kindergarten where each kid had their name signed on the back of the shirt. Of course she grew out off it so I asked my mom to make a pillow. I also have a pillow in my living room made out of one of my mom's blouses. I saw a video recently of a mother receiving a quilt from her daughters made from their baby clothes. Another woman received something (I can't remember what it was, maybe a quilt) made from her late husband's shirts. It's a great thing to do if you have the talent. You certainly have the talent.

What a wonderful keepsake from your father! You're so creative, the pillow is beautiful. A few years ago, my husband got rid of a bunch of his ties that were too short. I kept them, thinking I would make something out of them, but never did.

@HazySue I think I finally gave them to Good Will. They didn't hold any special meaning for me.

That's so nice to have. Too bad you didn't make a few of them so everyone could have one.

That is a very nice remembrance of your dad. I wish I had thought of doing something like that when my dad passed away years ago.

You are such a nice daughter. Yes, I have so many of the mementos of my mother, like her embroideries on throw pillow covers which she gave me. I always treasure it.

That's one way of making something that's all tied up.
