I have lived in Sydney for 50 years but its only in the last 10 years that I have seen indigenous wildlife in the city.
In the last 10 years I have seen Gala's , a goanna, a redback spider (yes my first), a yellow belly black snake, a frill neck lizard and for a while I had these 2 visitors before lunch every day.

Very rare. I imagine if it happens it's because they have hitched a ride by hiding in some nook on or cranny in a car that visited the country or one of our National Parks. I remember once hearing about one that hid in the spare wheel.

Fortunately snakes rarely ever make their way into our cities and I have only ever seen one. A good thing too because apparently we have some of the most deadliest in the world.
