I have been meaning to write about this musician for ages, but funnily enough a post by @MALUSE with a photo of her younger self at the piano reminded me and has spurred me on. Have you heard of Alma Deutscher? I first heard of her a few years ago when she was 7 or 8. She has been a pianist since the age of two, a violinist since age three, and a composer almost as long; she composed her first piano sonata at age six. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, composing beautiful piano and violin concertos and an opera, as well as being a world class soloist on both piano and violin. She comes from a musical family and her younger sister, Helen, is also very talented. I took ‘Big One’ to a concert a couple of years ago, she was an amazing performer but also a lovely, fun and friendly young girl.
