Recently, many local people in my country are into monitoring their kids with regards to 'momo' app. A young boy died because of this app. He committed suicide based on what the tasks were given in the app icon. I haven't seen it and tried to filter my little niece mobile phone in downloading any apps.
I had tried to check what does the app looks like and see how creepy it is.
"Have you seen or know about this creepy app?"
"Do you check your child's mobile phone from time to time?"

Wow. I didn't know if this was a hoax or not. I would hate to think a kid would be that gullible to kill themselves because an app said so that is sad

@FayeHazel I agree. I can't believe that some people seem evil from within and trying to affect others.

Aside from Apps, its now hiding in Youtube playlists for children. Youtube already addressed this problem. Momo is originally used for creepy pastas but the creators of Elsa gate took advantage. Yes the creator of Momo challenge is the creators of Elsagate videos.

@Shavkat Parents should not let Youtube babysit their kids.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I agree. But there some educational videos that are suitable for kids. The parents need to guide the kids.

Yes, I saw it on TV last night and it is very dangerous for the children to get hooked into it.

@hillhjill I agree. It is a good thing that it was broadcasted on TV news about this concern here lately. It is a big lesson for parents to be aware of it.

You can try to check this link out. It is not a good thing for kids to encounter this.

The lastest outrage over youtube involves the momo challenge which is called a what’s app suicide game. Do not play this game. Do not call that number Period...

@Shavkat thanks for sharing and yes I checked it out just a little bit ago, they have so many videos on YouTube about it.
And no kids should not be watching that at all.

Just the thought of it is very scary and ghoulish. This is a very alarming issue. I hate to say this, but some parents are just too engrossed on other things that they have neglected their children. Giving them gadgets is one way of showing less personal attention and less quality time.

Well, my nephew (4) and niece (6) don't have smartphones, or any intelligent devices yet. I have not seen that app either.

@jvicentevalera I hope parents can do that. Time had changed people's lifestyle now. Good parenting counts for the children's welfare.

@Shavkat I agree on the fact that they (children) are allowed to seek for knowledge in YouTube once they're being supervised by a responsible adult, otherwise not letting them being on their own in the computer, and I agree with you on being more strict on supervising every single approach she has to technology at least for now.

I never heard of it until now.. I think parents need to watch over their children's activity on cell phones and computers.

Our daughter discovered this on our grand-daughter's phone! It's quite shocking what some people think is suitable to post online
