As my husband is much better today and tomorrow we won't be working, we decided to go out with our kids tonight to celebrate the Carnival. There are some street parties and as my kids love to wear costumes we will dinner out and then we will spend some time having fun in the parties.
Carnival is not my favorite festivity but I will try to get into the spirit I don't have a costume to wear but I will wear my daughters cat ears and a tail (the one I used to the Christmas theater)
Do you wear costumes in the Carnival? How is it celebrated in your country?
Happy carnival to everyone

@nela13 It seems that the mother jumped on the floater, the kid wanted to go down and she "passed" the kid to his father, he fell and hit his head. This is really lack of common sense. Those floaters go pretty fast and her husband surely had to walk fast to try to get the baby. I am so sorry for the poor kid.

It's not celebrated up here... probably a weather issue! Sounds like tons of fun though!!

Carnival is only celebrated in a few places here in the US. It is not celebrated in the city I live in.

@nela13 Sounds like a lot of fun! I'm not sure why it's not celebrated more widely here in the US. I know a lot of people who will just travel to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras, but that's a long way to travel just to attend a street party!

@nela13 It's not part of the tradition. I think I would get along with it, at least I do not have big ears and tail
