Life’s like that

Change is the only constant. So much happens every moment but, thankfully, we are not directly impacted by most of the changes.
I try to find a stable ground but soon pushed into stormy waters. I get a feeling I am skating on thin ice at times! I think that is built-in our conscience – “expect the unexpected”.
It may be because we are made of sterner stuff. Being comfy is not life then, if we are not adventurous, something can be thrust upon us to test our mettle.
Health can prove tricky; we worry about a death sentence that our time is nearing. Then the constant money worries; that something out of the blue can upset our plans. People can prove unpredictable too.
At a wider level, natural calamities can affect us; we can be left to pick the pieces. We do not know when they happen; can be once in a lifetime, or in a millennium. We can find ourselves smack in the thick of nature’s fury like a humongous earthquake or super volcano.
Things are sailing along in placid waters for us now though individually we are fighting battles constantly and moving on learning the lessons
Life is some journey but we seem to want more of it and therein lay the beauty of it!
I am okay for now, hopefully, you all are. Things could be better but thank our good fortune they are not worse! Do you agree?

@Shiva49 Yes in the recent times, I too am adjusting to enjoy things as they come, and do not fret excessively on things not in our control.
Still sometimes mind wanders off, and needs some calming down.

We go to bed and all seems well and we wake up to horrible news like that in New Zealand. We never know what the next minute will bring.

@Shiva49 "As soon as we abandon our own reason, and are content to rely upon authority, there is no end to our troubles."
BERTRAND RUSSELL
People are destructive, nasty, road ragers, etc etc, largely for no reason. We should not do anything without reasoned thought about it.

There is a reason for why things are as they are.
(The photo didn't work, There seems to be a glitch with Mylot at the moment. Photos can't be uploaded, it seems for now.)
The glitch is fixed today. There is a reason why 2 + 2 = 4, and not 5, and it's not because the authorities said so.

"We are our own worst enemy" is proved time and time again.
I cannot imagine what leads people to kill others they do not know even.
Gandhi said, “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind”.
Even animals kill for a reason - so it cannot be animal instinct as is often said - siva

@Shiva49 I see that you still get some comments on your old posts here.
I notice that wikinut finally closed its doors completely too. We cannot access the site anymore.

Life's journey is a process towards our goal in life. Practically speaking we are here on this earth to search for happiness. In doing so there are lots of trials and challenges in any form and it takes us the courage and determination to accept changes in charting such journey to eternity.

@Shiva49 you're right. It's just enrolling in college with a degree to complete. Or else as you've said no final destination to reach.

Yup, the universe unfolds as it should, fashions come, fashions go. In romancing our thinking, as we perceive and study things, one thing remains - truth.

I remember when I was working planning was what the company did - a 5 year plan. Wonder if the Planning Department took into account unpredictable changes which perforce were there

@Shiva49 With upgrades at the blink of an eye we need to throw away anything that needs repair - spare parts would not longer be available

Nowadays the change is hectic. What the software engineers study in the first year gets outdated before they graduate!
The energy and transport sectors are undergoing transformational changes with renewable energy and electric mobility. The Internal Combustion Engines can become obsolete in a decade. Many companies are trying to catch up and make sense of their relevance in this changing scenario - siva

Some changes are not always for the better. We do need change at times to challenge us and motivate us to change the way we live our lives.

I saw your previous comment.
Maybe, you have changed your display name as I do not recall you readily.
I am only responding to Steve and a few others, no new posts for now.
I will respond to yours too as often as I can.
Thanks for remembering me - siva

Ya know, I never think about all that doom and gloom. I live for today and expect good, if bad happens then I deal.

Thanks, I like to think of all possibilities but live day-to-day, come as it may.
I like to ponder how our forefathers lived, how we live and how our future generations might live.
I feel we are in placid waters for now when compared to our past.
Scientifically, we have come far and the change is gaining speed but as human beings, we are just the same unable to lift ourselves from internecine conflicts though nature has been mostly benign - siva
