She Was/She Is (Poem)

She was The outcast The one chosen Last. They judged her For the things she couldn’t change Nor did she want to She wore Who she was Like a badge of honor And Yes I guess it was. She was the Head always buried In a book Escaping taunts And teases In far off lands In long ago places. She was The girl they tried To break and beat With words Like weapons. She is The CEO of A Fortune 500. She is The bestselling novelist Your youngest daughter Always reads. She is The teacher For those with Special Needs! (C) Michelle R Kidwell Dec.31.2018 1:12 A.M PST
