I'm still wearing green...

… well, not right now, but I will before venturing out today. Happy St.Patrick's Day - My Lot! … so, as I was saying, I'm still wearing green in spite of a little misadventure. It went something like this. Friday- my mom was supposed to go to a Dr. appointment in Minneapolis (that's 90 minutes for us one way). These things, even if it is only 1 thing to do there - tend to take all day. 3 hours driving, the time for the labs, and appointment to see the dr. My dad who needs to eat frequently and take his time... - between all of those variables, it usually takes anywhere from 5-8 hours. Those of you who have been reading me for awhile - also know the issues my dad has - he insists on going with to these things - well, it makes for a long, tiring day for everyone. Now I do feel bad complaining. I still thank God that this isn't the c word - and that mom is well. Don't get me wrong there. I just wish these medical people could group appointments together a little bit better. Well, mom and I had a bad feeling that something was going to be wrong … dad wasn't angry, but he was just... sort of …. out of it most of the day so mom and I decided to cancel the appointment - we thought that was probably it. - Related to my dad. Now, keeping in mind - we were taking my car down to the cities. My dad has a car which he refuses to drive in winter because it's in nice shape. And a van. Now the van has been a nice vehicle - actually one of the more dependable vehicles they have owned... but as the folks age- getting up in the van is difficult and my dad has fallen getting in before. I am currently after them to get a small, nice, car. Well, just after we decide to go home for the day, (we had went out to do some errands ) My brake light goes on. Great. Well I guess the intuition was right. Now being it was Friday, I wasn't sure if I was going to go out later or not. So I packed up my trusty cap and green bead-tie. I have a sequined baseball cap with Shamrocks all over it, and a green bead "tie" necklace that I wear for St.Patrick's. Usually I forget them in the back of a drawer but this year I was proud of myself for remembering. Well. Of course they are now in my car, which is sitting at the garage, waiting to be fixed. It can't be too much with my car since I just had the brake lines replaced. Thankfully the garage had a loan out car available to use, So I'm not stranded. So as stressful as it was, and even though my St.Patrick's stuff and not to mention, the book I'm reading - are in my car... I'm thankful we listen to intuition , I'm thankful we weren't in traffic when the brakes went, and I'm thankful the garage had a car available to use.
