What a Sight!

When we returned from the gym and breakfast, this is the sight we discovered from one of our windows!
High tide, pelting rain, waves splashing into the parking area (there is a depression for the water to return to the Intracoastal), dark sky, huge breezes, and the pier almost covered with water. Wow! What a sight to see!
This being Florida, the sun is shining again. What a perfect way to usher out winter in our part of the world.
I’ll be doing 3 loads of laundry. What’s cookin’ with you today?

Yes, but unless a real storm passes by, the weather will be nice later, as the report says.

Our lake looks like that when we have windy, gray weather. Luckily it is sunshine and blue skies today!

Lovely! I came down with some kind of headcold so I've been spending the past couple days indoor mostly, though when I looked outside today I noticed that a lot of snow had melted. Goodbye to winter from both of us lol

So sorry to hear you have a head cold. You are wise to stay in and rest and not contaminate others either. I do hope you feel better soon.
The funny think about Florida is that it is springlike every single day. Some days are a bit cooler and others a bit more hot, but a lovely place to be all winter and for me, most of the spring for me now.

@FayeHazel That's exactly what I do. Just get well soon.
I was only in Florida once in the summer and got horrible sun poisoning. The year rounders here say it's wonderful living on the water in the summer due to the breeze. One week of stillness isn't too bad. I'm sure it's a lot better than CT in the summer.

@DianneN Thanks. It sucks... I try to be considerate and if people feel that I should be out and about I just tell 'em that I don't wanna share my cold with them
Florida does sound lovely yearly round

@bunnybon7 It is a crazy weather day, but it will get beautiful again soon. We really needed the water for those beautiful flowers, trees, lawns, and fresh fruits/vegetables!

It's 70 right now with a low tonight of 67. It rained, got sunny, rained, got sunny, and now it's cloudy. The wind is blowing away. It's a great day to stay indoors. When I opened the window to take this photo, my iPad and I got soaked.

Woh - that's a very different scenery from the photos we usually see from you! Although I actually do love it when it's gray out and raining. I am continuing the clean up efforts - just trying to get rid of stuff. (Shhhh, but I won't say that I got some fun new plates this morning - yah, brought in more "stuff" ). Kids get out early today so we'll be hittin' the library - then taekwondo tonight. 1 load of laundry to do later.

@DianneN We had a few days of almost summer warmth, but today we are gray and getting some good rain now! I love the sound of water and we've finally got plenty of it this season! I need to put some good food on the plate so it makes sense to show in a photo . My daughter is testing for 3rd degree black belt on Friday!

@much2say When you feel better from your cold, you can cook up a storm and showcase it on your plates. Don't forget a sprig of parsley!
How exciting for your daughter. I wish her the best of luck, but I have a feeling she will earn her 3rd degree black belt without my good wishes. Let me know how she makes out!!!!!

I love days like this. We've only had a couple of them, but they are cozy and unlike the rain we get up north. And the sound of the water is fantastic!!!!!
Getting new stuff is always exciting! You should post a photo of your new plates!!!
Have a great rest of the day, and glad the kids are still doing taekwondo!!!!

Wow, what a shot. It actually looks a wee bit scary.
Hmmm, speaking of cooking I need to get started.
I'm goofing off on mylot while a load of laundry is spinning round. After I get it hung I'm determined to try to add another line so I can hang more that just a few items.

I hope to get my dryer fixed sometime in fall @DianneN for now hanging them outside doesn't bother me too much. Of course it'll take longer to get the winter (as if we get one here, right?) blankets to dry so I'll wait until it's really hot to do those.

Have you ever been at your place in Florida when a king tide hits? It's crazy how high those tides will get!

@DianneN Oh wow, did it cause a lot of flooding? I was spending a weekend in St. Augustine one year when a king tide hit. I had never heard of king tides and I thought a water main had broken in the downtown area, because all the streets were flooded. And then I went to drive along the Matanzas inlet and saw all the sea water pouring over the sea walls and pushing all that water toward the downtown area.

@moffittjc No, just a little coming over the seawall, but it drained back into the Intracostal. One car in the parking lot had water around it. I guess we were lucky.

We are in the low 80s today which is very unusual for the Seattle area. I was planning on going to church tonight for Bible study but now have a horrible headache so going to eat a Salad and go to sleep early if the headache does not quit.

It was around 40 today. Warmer more seasonal temps are coming soon. I envy you. We would love to move to the Keys. Maybe I'll write about that! Winters up here suck!
I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. That's what's shakin' up here!
