I hate coffee, so the few times I've had it I HAD to dump a lot of sugar in it to make it palatable!

No, I never put sugar in my coffee. I am oroginally Turkish and I grew up with Turkish coffee. At some point in my life, I decided to drink tea and coffee without sugar like adults did. It was my way of growing up. Around me, only adults didnt put sugar in their coffee or tea. And so I started not to put sugar. I don't think, though, that made me an adult. Hahaha. But let me tell you more, I always eat something sweet with my coffee or tea. It feels much better this way.
