Looking Into The Keto Diet

Yesterday while I was at the Drug Store picking up yet some more prescriptions I spotted this magazine by Woman's World called "The Keto Diet". After perusing the cover, of course I bought it. Me being me, I just had to have it.
Now I am going to be trying the Keto Diet. After reading the magazine and devouring every word I decided that this is my next diet. They claim huge weight loss, help in the cardiac area, diabetes, blood pressure, and even digestion.
I decided that nothing else has helped enough so this one may be it. I was on a diet that did really well but then I went off of it and I have gained back, in two weeks time, one pound more than I weighed before I started the diet. To tell the truth, I really don't believe that it was the diets fault but I am rather spooked that I gained the weight back in such a short time.
Has anyone here on myLot tried the Keto Diet. Do you know if it actually works? I would really like to know.

I remember many, many years ago a diet that was more or less identical. Finally there are no secrets, no carbs, no sugar, very little fat and smaller portions. I cut on my portions and I do not follow diets anymore, they all have side effects.

@HazySue I have followed several times the Scarsdale Diet, it claimed the same as the Keto Diet. It worked for me, when I wanted to lose some weight I followed the 2 weeks strict diet plus 2 weeks mild diet and it always worked, but I would have not continued for months.

A friend and her husband both went on it last year and lost a lot of weight. They both look fantastic. I know many people who have had great success with it.

@just4him It was a great diet for a while. My doctor kept mentioning the Mediterranean diet and for some reason I resisted it. I then read how much you lose and how quickly you lose it on the Keto diet and thought I would try it. Now I am in limbo. I probably should go back to the Whole30 diet instead of looking around.

I have done it, and know it works. I just have trouble sticking to a diet plan in general sometimes lol. But I got my a1c down a lot using it!

@MommyOfEli2013 There is also a combination Keto-Mediterranean diet. I will have to look into what it entails.

@HazySue I've just done a lot of research on the Keto diet over the past few years, and had some successes with it myself :) Now if I could just stick to it 100% I'd lose the weight too.
