Yesterday while I was at the Drug Store picking up yet some more prescriptions I spotted this magazine by Woman's World called "The Keto Diet". After perusing the cover, of course I bought it. Me being me, I just had to have it. Now I am going to be trying the Keto Diet. After reading the magazine and devouring every word I decided that this is my next diet. They claim huge weight loss, help in the cardiac area, diabetes, blood pressure, and even digestion. I decided that nothing else has helped enough so this one may be it. I was on a diet that did really well but then I went off of it and I have gained back, in two weeks time, one pound more than I weighed before I started the diet. To tell the truth, I really don't believe that it was the diets fault but I am rather spooked that I gained the weight back in such a short time. Has anyone here on myLot tried the Keto Diet. Do you know if it actually works? I would really like to know.

I think to keep the weight off you need to change your eating habits in some way and in a permanent sense - smaller portions, more exercise, less carbohydrates or whatever. I hope the Keto diet helps.

I remember many, many years ago a diet that was more or less identical. Finally there are no secrets, no carbs, no sugar, very little fat and smaller portions. I cut on my portions and I do not follow diets anymore, they all have side effects.

@HazySue I have followed several times the Scarsdale Diet, it claimed the same as the Keto Diet. It worked for me, when I wanted to lose some weight I followed the 2 weeks strict diet plus 2 weeks mild diet and it always worked, but I would have not continued for months.

My brother went on it last summer after a stay in the hospital. He loved it, and he wasn't even heavy to begin with. He did it for health reasons and wound up looking extra good and feeling great.

As all diets have side effects, this can be dangerous if you take high blood pressure medications! Just reduce the portions, cut sugars and fats and it works.

@HazySue You did say when you started Whole30 the doctor favored that one. Is there a reason you quit it? I'm still on it. Though I have added Stevia sugar back into my diet, only with tea.

@just4him It was a great diet for a while. My doctor kept mentioning the Mediterranean diet and for some reason I resisted it. I then read how much you lose and how quickly you lose it on the Keto diet and thought I would try it. Now I am in limbo. I probably should go back to the Whole30 diet instead of looking around.

I know some people who do it and who have done well on it. I would miss carbs too much to totally eliminate them.

@HazySue I've just done a lot of research on the Keto diet over the past few years, and had some successes with it myself :) Now if I could just stick to it 100% I'd lose the weight too.
