This is one fruit that needs special handling Cashews have astringency which induces choking while eating it Very few can manage it without getting into trouble. I just cannot eat them.
The only way is to steam them after removing the nuts and prepare juice. By steaming the astringency disappears.
Not the best way but this fruit is packed with nutrients and so if not the best way atleast I will get its benefits.

This is the season for cashew apples here in our garden. We do make juice but most go into the compost pit.

@allknowing We only have hazelnuts and walnuts here, they grow in a cold climate.

@allknowing I used too. But never seen the whole fruit. They are hard to eat now with no teeth.
