Stewart Copeland, Andy Summers and Sting came together as the Police in 1977 in London. Hard to believe the Police were considered part of the new wave/punk scene in the beginning with “Roxanne” in 1978. Mainstream success came with “soft” songs like “Every Breath You Take” which were not big on alternative radio. The solo career of jazz oriented Sting has been mellow adult contemporary.
Sting wrote “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” in 1976 and neither Copeland or Summers were enthusiastic. The song is hardly cutting edge but totally commercial. From the triple platinum album “Ghost in the Machine,” “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” was #1 UK and #3 US.
The Police broke up in 1986, reunited for a 2007 tour and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Every little thing she does is magic, and in the next album he’s divorcing her. Ain’t life great.
Terrific song. I saw them on that tour.
