I Can't Get Motivated

I'm trying to get motivated. I have an hour before leaving to get my hair done and I could be walking on the treadmill or stretching more than the 5 minutes I didn't before getting out of bed yet my body is so exhausted and I just don't want to. Every day that I do this I can get stronger and yet I can't get motivated today.
I think it's all the activities, events and other "stuff" that has been going on where I just want to be still.
When I return I have to either take my granddaughter into the big city to her sparring and karate or watch my grandson while my daughter takes her. It's something every day from appointments and activities to doctor appointments and tests.
I lost seven pounds in the last two months and should be at 8 by now. I'm not to lose more than 4 a month and we've had to tweak the foods I have in the 1500 calorie minimum and maximum limit. It's hard to keep it within these choices. I need the walking boost.
My legs have been hurting especially the areas where I broke it years ago. I had a bone scan yesterday to see all the damage in my body and will have a new therapy once we know. We already know the arthritis has my body in bad shape.
How do you get yourself motivated? I think I'll go walk at least five minutes then tell myself just five minutes more until I hit 15 to 20. I'll probably cry from the pain but I need to move.
Hope you are having a great day today.

It's what I need to do. I have a routine I get up, feed the cats while my coffee machine is warming up and then get coffee while sitting in a stupor for 30 minutes. I really need to change that up and exercise first thing. I'm sure after my day I'll find another excuse so I put exercise on my calendar just now for 4 pm with the note of "just do it woman".

@noni1959 When I'm up north, I have Doodles the cat, so feed him first, take him out for a walk around the yard, give him his good boy treats for not running away on his walk, and then I leave for my walk or gym or whatever sport I'm doing. When I return home, it's back out with Doodles for his walk around the yard, his treats, start the laundry, and then sit down with my cup of coffee. I try to stick to that routine. If not, I'd sit like a lump at the computer all day.

@noni1959 I completely understand about the early morning pre-coffee stupor, Loretta. I feel the same way in the morning. Can you start the day a little early, have your coffee and then start walking? I have read that arthritis is helped by exercise. I am sorry you have pain and hope your therapy will help. Physical Therapy is great! The therapists will give you stretches and other helpful suggestions! Been there when I herniated a disc in my back and from experience I know every little bit you do adds up! Good luck to you!

You have enough on your plate that you are entitled to days where you do not have to do anything. It took me a long time to get off my duff and not just think about losing the weight I needed to and now I do not want to ever put it back on.

Losing weight but no more then 4 pounds a month sounds really tough. I can't imagine having to keep such close track of what I eat.
Unfortunately when feel unmotivated I either just chill out and do nothing or muddle through until it is done. I never actually find a way to find motivation it's just either there or it's not.

It's very hard. I have a lot of habits too. I have a metabolic disorder and some issues with losing weight even with a low calorie intake. It's been found if I go under 1500, my body goes into starve mode and holds on. Over, it can be hard to lose. These past couple days it's been super tough to do.

I try to accomplish SOMETHING each day. Past that is too much to ask. I have major depression so being motivated isn't something I am able to be much at all.

I am sorry to hear about your pain, and feeling unmotivated. I have been feeling unmotivated myself lately....so I don't really have any tips myself.

@noni1959 I am sorry that you are hurting after that, and Tylenol only takes the edge off.

One way I get myself motivated to exercise is to think about how I'll be better off physically and mentally if I just keep it up.

My day is better than yesterday when I simply didn't feel like doing much of anything. Today, tons of energy!! When it hits me.. I have to step away and do something completely different for a while!

Sorry that you're feeling unmotivated and in pain. It takes me awhile every morning to get out of bed and moving. My knees are my sorest when I first get up so I move very slowly until my blood starts flowing and the pain lessens a bit.
Hope moving around helps you a bit.

Sorry to hear that you can't get motivated sometimes I feel it too.
I get motivated thinking about my goals and that I will be a better person once I reach my goal. Because I am the only one who can help my self
Don't worry ?? you'll get there
