hushpuppies and topsiders by hereandthere2019

do shoes have gender for you? are there shoes you won't wear because they're for guys only or for ladies only? here are two pairs of shoes. on the left is a pair of hush puppies lace-up sneakers. it's my first time to see and wear knitted shoes. it's light and the sole is flexible, but it can feel hot after a while. (here we usually call sneakers rubber shoes.) on the right is a pair of sperry topsiders. i know they are called boat shoes in the us. topsiders and penny loafers were popular here during the '80s. it actually fits me, but i passed it on to a nephew instead.

The ones that I see in picture look gender neutral. I will wear them if I find them comfortable.

we say unisex here. i don't usually wear sneakers, but i'm starting to like this. i was tempted to use the topsiders, too, but i'm sure it would benefit my nephew more.

I do think that most high heels are womens shoes but other than that most shoes can go either way, for me personally I go for the comfort and if it's a guy shoe then so be it, I just want to be able to walk.

i don't wear heels unless required, like when i'm part of a wedding entourage and even then it's only like an inch and a half

I do wear shoes in winter season. Some shoes looks like for male people so I ask repeatedly to the shopkeeper, is this for ladies

@hereandthere The shoes I buy to wear I like and it doesn't matter to me if they are for men or women.

@hereandthere Actually the ones I buy now are for women but some could be for either one. I love the ones I buy and I have some very comfortable ones and sandals I love too.

I'll definitely wear them both. It's how you wear it that matters, I guess.

It seems like both of them look more feminine and for men they have to be bigger.

The ones in the picture can be worn by both sexes, I had worn low cut converse before and Speary Topsiders but when I buy shoes I see to it that it is specifically under " men's "

Depending on the clothes I am wearing, I would wear either one. I have a pair of "boat shoes" made by Lands End, in red. I think they make my feet look big, but they are leather, and feel comfortable, so I will wear them sometimes.

i normally avoid red. then my sister handed down red loafers and later red mary janes and i liked them.

I never really thought of that! As far as sneakers go, I can barely fit in a women's size . . . I often go for the boy sizes as they seem to be built sturdier. But I guess I do discriminate to some degree - wanting them to look "feminine".
