A shock on looking out of the window!

Today is April the 3rd - we have officially been in British Summer Time since Sunday - but what did I see on looking out of the bathroom window this morning? Snow!
According to the weather forecast there was a mention of snow being possible on higher ground today, but this is Leicestershire, which is not known as being a particularly mountainous county. This is not even the highest part of Leicestershire!
I suppose that any ground that is higher than somewhere else could be designated as "higher ground", so that might be the let-out clause - but even so!!
Incidentally, it was a lot warmer in February round here!

@indexer Thankfully we’ve been spared snow here, but it’s cold enough for it. I remember snow during a very late Easter once but it didn’t stop me from swimming in the Atlantic - I was going to get wet anyway, and the sea temperature was greater than the air temp.

We had snow here last week in Ireland but thankfully it didn't stick. It looks lovely but I hate it. We had hailstones here in Ireland yesterday. This morning it was warm and sunny but now its getting cold and overcast. The weather is really very different now than it was years ago.

It is the same story everywhere. It is unnatural for nature to behave that way. Our mango season is normally around May but we had our first harvest in March.

We had snow yesterday too, and hail the day before. It certainly isn't the first time though, we have had snow in April and even May quite a few times in the past, sometimes quite a lot of it. Today is just wet and very cold. Wish it was a bit warmer but I'm not sorry to get some rain, it has been far too dry and I had to resort to using my water butts at the weekend which just seems wrong in March (as it was then).
