Do you easily believe in strangers?

This world is full of interesting and funny people. We come across many in our life, whom we do not know at all. If you come across a stranger, would you believe him easily or would you see him with suspicion? I believe that it depends upon person to person. If one looks with suspicion towards everyone, s/he would not trust anyone. If one has the tendency to ‘believe’ others, he would even believe a stranger.

I am careful, someone has to gain my trust. I have not always been lucky believing in strangers, so I learnt my lesson.

It means that you do not easily believe strangers. This may be because you might have faced some bad experiences in the past, when you trusted a stranger.

No, I don't. If you easy to believe in strangers, you may get hurt, although there are a lot of kind people in the world too. But, just be careful to protect yourself.

So you do not believe in strangers as you feel afraid that any of them might not hurt you. Do you hear or read cases of cheating/theft/duping in your area/city.

@Faynlain I am sorry to hear about the incident, which happened with your grandmother. It means these incidents not only happen in India but in your country also?

@dpk262006 When there are ways to take care of ourselves there is no reason why we should not make use of them. When we can lock a cupboard why should we keep it open?

Strangers have not earned my trust. It's something to learn over time and how their character is to believe what they say or do. I would never trust and believe a stranger that would offer to hold my grandchildren, take a photo of me with my phone, nor allow them to know where I live.

It means that you are over protective and your mind tells you that strangers could do harm to you, therefore, you should not believe you. I understand that you might have faced some bad experiences in the past, which led to this situation. Nothing wrong in not believing a stranger, this way you feel more safe. Do you hear or read cases of cheating/theft/duping in your area/city.

@dpk262006 There are some issues with the past, yes, however; that is not why I won't trust immediately. The neighborhood pedophile can come off as helpful and nice. I am polite and like to learn who someone is when I meet them and feel I would like to know them more. We don't know if they have an abusive background, thief, liar, etc. I will not believe "trust" someone just because they are coming off as nice. I am not paranoid, just cautious. There are always news stories of people scamming others for money, care givers abusing children and elderly, etc. There are good kind people as well. It's nice when I find them.

@noni1959 Yes, you never know about background of everyone, you come across, how he was in the past, even if he is behaving with you nicely. Nothing wrong in taking precautions, it saves yourself. It is good to hear that you meet nice people also.

@Kosgey If you do not interact with a stranger, you won't come to know about his behavior. Is not it?

@dpk262006 because I can't trust anyone whom you found without knowing their behavior.

Generally I don't. But once my car got stuck and I asked one young man to help me. He looked decent. I handed him my car keys and he really helped. Later I thought that he could have run away with my car.

Generally, we don't believe strangers so easily, as we would believe a known to person. You trusted a stranger and he helped you to set your car in right. Yes, it is possible that he might have run away with your car but that did not happen. I believe that we read and hear all sort of negative stories (theft and cheating/duping etc.) therefore, these kinds of thoughts keep traveling in our mind.

@arunima25 That gets possible because they know our moment and about our financial position.

@dpk262006 Yes, we have so many scary stories. But if you see, many crimes and wrong doing are done by a close known person.

I believe them. In fact, I don't want to filter out so much with them. I believe, nothing harm will happen when we speak .. and having said that I also know how to tackle them when they are intruding so much. :-)

It would be dependent on what was being said. I would mostly accept what the other person was saying but with caution!

It means that you do not immediately start doubting a strangers. You would give him a chance to speak so that you could observe and decide, whether he is worth believing or not.
