Robin's Nest

Was out walking around in the yard and I spotted this robin sitting on a nest about 6-7 feet up in my pine tree in the backyard. I will not be able to see the eggs because she is too far up in the tree. But at least I caught this photo and hopefully she will have a successful brood. So cool to find bird nests in the yard. I am sure there are more. But I cannot do any ladder climbing right now, so I will have to watch from a distance. The robin eggs are such a pretty blue but maybe I can find an other not lower in the tree to see soon. There are many robins around, hopefully there will be other nests. Photo ©CarolDm2019 Any bird watchers out there? I know a few of you. Seen anything cool lately in your yard?

Aw that's so awesome and gorgeous photo!! There was a birds nest in our mailbox for a couple weeks (shows how much mail we get! ). I thought this stump was cool enough for a photo. =)

It won't be long before you start hearing little chirps coming from the tree

@CarolDM Last year we lived in a townhouse and a pair of sparrows built a nest in our dryer vent. We tried and tried to discourage them by using a water bottle and squirting at the vent but they were determined. I was so worried and didn't want to use the dryer but had to. One day I heard the little chirps and the mama bird wore her little self out feeding her babies. The father bird took guard in the bush right beside the vent. I still worried that those babies were going to die from the heat. One morning, they were gone. The mama bird never came back, neither did the father. I don't know what happened. I hope that they all flew away during the night.

@simone10 Sparrows are very determined birds. They probably did fly away safely. Being in an isolated place, they should have been safe from predators, so I would say they flew away.

We only get common sparrows, blackbirds and thrushes in our yard, but we do have a native NZ tui who sits in a tree and sings nearby.

Don't have any Bluetits that I know of but many robins and doves and mockingbirds. Good for you and your birds. Enjoy!

We heard Orville yapping today, but didn't see him. Later, white egrets (heron) will stop by like clockwork.

@CarolDM He is a nut, but we love him. I hear him now! The egret came and went. Waiting for more birds that I can't identify. Soon, the pelicans will arrive, and last the seagull type birds. lol

There's plenty of birds in Miami. The birds love to chirp outside my window panes.

You have to really look for the nests, of course they try to keep them hidden for protection but be careful if you do!
