I need to plant an apple tree

My daughter is better today, she doesn't have fever since yesterday, it seems the sore throat was a virus and she didn't need the antibiotic.
As she was feeling better yesterday night she wanted apples, her favorite fruit and she ate 3
I have many fruit trees in my yard but curiously I don't have an apple tree. My kids eat so many apples that I think it makes sense plant a tree of red apples, their favorite. I just don't know if it is the right time to plant it
I usually buy apples on Saturdays or Sundays and we run out of it on Wednesday... I think I need a very big tree

Oh I do not now when is that right time to plant it. maybe during summers when there is plenty of sun for it to grow fast before it succumbs to winter it should be big enough already to counter the cold weather. I saw apple orchards and most of them are leafless at this point in time and my sister said they would start to have leaves when summer comes and during fall is their time to bear fruits and winter is when they would literally stop until spring and summer comes back again.

I am glad she is felling better. My daughter used to eat tons of apples as well. About 3 a day. My son the last year or so has been that way with oranges. It is to cold here to grow oranges but we do have an apple tree in the yard. They take so long to grow and bear fruit. Free fruit is wonderful once they start producing!

Apple trees are harder than citrus trees.

Just that apples can grow shriveled, taste bad, wormy.

Happy daughter is better. Oh! If you buy that apple tree - you need another one close by for pollination.

@FayeHazel No, there are no apples trees near here, I think I will buy 2. Thank you

@nela13 I think that would be the safest idea - and you would have plenty of apples. If any near neighbors have apple trees that might work, too... but I'm unsure how close they need to be. Fairly close, I think.

Do not forget to plant next to the tree and horseradish. It keeps the tree from root disease

You should definitely plant since you say apples are in demand in your household.

Yes, as they eat so many I think it makes sense have one apple tree.
