DIY Hair Mask

Do you ever do anything like this? I thought it would be a fun pampering project for today since I don’t have many concrete plans outside of the home. Just plan on exercising, getting some reading for class in, and household stuff taken care of. Lest i get off track.... I found one super simple one online - 2-3 egg yolks and a dash of olive oil. Leave in for 20 minutes. Then shampoo out. I just shampooed it out and hoping that it will help the coarseness of my hair. Lately it’s texture has been not great. In the past I have tried coconut oil and olive oil “hair masks” but they make your hair so greasy that it seems to take several shampoos to get out. No thank you! So, I will have to see if it turns out any softer/smoother after it dries. Do you ever do DIY / Home Remedy Hair Masks? Which have worked for you?

My mother is a hairdresser and I buy professional products at a low price that is why I have never tried to do my own masks at home.

Dont' you like the idea of more natural, home remedies though? It feels like products always have a ton of chemicals in them.

I have never done a hair mask. My hair dresser tells me that my hair is very healthy, so I do not think that I need it. I did get a nice sample of shampoo and conditioner in the mail today, love free samples so much!

Nice. I straighten my hair and wash it just about every day, so I am sure it is highly damaged from that. I love freebies as well though!!

I did the egg mask once and rinsed it off with water that was too hot. I ended up with scrambled egg hair. I don't think I will be doing that again.

I haven't tried them, but I think they can be good. Let us know how your conditioning treatment works out. I might try it too.

The eggs totally made my hair feel fantastic. It was kind of gross and goopy when I was putting it in, but it made it SUPER smooth. I would suggest it.

Coconut oil mask. Since coconut is abundant here, we make our own coconut oil by heating it and then apply on the scalp of the hair for a few minutes. I did it only once so can't say it worked for me but I heard how effective it was for other people.

I am not a fan of this. I have tried it, and it simply made my hair too greasy. Took SEVERAL shampoos to get that greasy feeling out.

That sounds like an easy conditioner and it's nice if you have all the ingredients on hand. Be sure to let us know how it turns out!!

I would totally suggest it. At least for my hair, it made it super smooth and improved the texture a lot!

I have never done a hair mask but I have rubbed argan oil into my hair and it seems to help it.

Back in the day I used to do DIY hair masks, but now always have treatments at my salon.

I have used coconut oil in my hair and it does leave your hair feeling softer and looking nice.
