Tonight my husband told me a story from one his jobs. He worked on a ferry and he and his coworkers were not allowed to drink alcohol while they worked.
One of his coworkers thought he had found the perfect solution. He mixed alcohol and coffee, and when they drank it looked like ordinary coffee. They all worked in the kitchen and they were allowed to drink the rest of the coffee from the restaurant.
One day the boss showed up in the kitchen, and he decided that he also wanted a cup of coffee. He drank their special coffee and then he said: "There is something wrong with this coffee, It tastes awful. You need to replace all of the coffee in the restaurant. We can't give this horrible coffee to the customers."
The boss never discovered the truth about the "horrible" coffee

I have heard of karsk, but I have never tried it. I have only tried Irish coffee, French coffee and Mexican coffee. Irish coffee is popular here and I drink it sometimes. The other ones I have only tried a few times, and I don't remember what they contained.

@Torunn Maybe it is better to stick to Irish coffee In the north of Denmark there is a drink called Bjesk. Some people mix it with coffee, but I have never tried it. I think I prefer ordinary coffee.

@Porcospino Irish coffee is a civilized drink compared to karsk. I don't think you've missed out on anything, it probably tastes awful

Yes, they would probably have lost their jobs. They had to make a lot of new coffee, so they got a bit of extra work, but it was much better than getting fired.
