We Fell in Love on April Fools Day

I loved the recent post by @LadyDuck about April Fool's Day. For those of you who haven't read it, you will love all the pranks which have successfully been played on people.
My husband and I have always celebrated April Fool's Day as a minor anniversary. We met on April Fool's Day, 1971, and were married six months later. When we met, I told him I had never dated anyone for more than six months, so I guess he wanted to make sure I didn't slip away! 
Almost 48 years later, we are still married! I guess meeting on April Fool's Day is not such a bad thing!
The photo above was taken on our wedding day. We were married in a park in Berkeley, California in 1971. I was a bit of a "flower child" in those days, so chose to wear a purple velvet dress and flowers in my hair for my wedding!

Thank you for mentioning Deborah. What a beautiful couple! My husband and I met in 1970, the 5th of February and we also married in 1971, in December, almost 48 years ago. April Fool's Day is a day to remember for you. It was cold when we got married in December in Milan, here is an old photo of our wedding. I had to "mask" the face of my husband, he does not want to appear online.

@1hopefulman - Wow! Now that you mention it, I can see a little similarity between him and the father in the Brady Bunch. No wonder I used to enjoy that show!

That is a beautiful wedding picture-congratulations on so many happy years of wedded bliss.
I love purple also, and my bridesmaids, maid of honour and little flower girl all wore royal purple satin southern bell style dresses, complete with parasols. And that is NOT a April fool's joke.

My daughter's wedding was April 1! They decided that day because nobody will forget it, and also it's "auspicious" in the Chinese calendar.
