It's a lot of fun to go to a hawk watch. I've gone many years. Its up on the mountain and in a park. It's a favorite place for me and my friends to visit all summer to walk the trails and see the view of Lake Ontario and other beautiful scenes... sometimes we see wild animals like deer...not dangerous...
My best girlfriend and I are planning to be there but with the weather we've been having we decided if its raining...we will stay home. We are not wanting to carry umbrellas...they get in the way of seeing the hawks....and we really don't like hiking in the rain... too muddy...
If I go, I will take some pictures...
The photo above was from that park overlooking the town of Grimsby, Ontario and Lake Ontario a few years ago.

It was raining cats and dogs, I stayed home, soon on a nice day I will walk with friends on that park. And soon the trees will have leaves...none yet here. The view to the lake is lovely all seasons.

We have a hawk, and a couple of owls, that live right in our neighborhood. It sounds more beautiful to go where you're planning to go.

@PainsOnSlate We are lucky (at least I think we are) that two barred owls live right behind our house. I assume they are a mating pair. We hear them all the time, and see them quite often now that we know what their favorite trees to roost in are.
I would love to spend more time with nature, but even the parks around here are enclosed by too much city.

We had a young hawk at our bird feeder - it didn't stay long. I've heard owls but haven't seen one yet... It rained all day so I stayed home from the . There will be more events at the park and I love going there just for the trails.

Not this spring, I stayed home out of the rain. I have been to the hawk watch often and enjoyed it but the rain made me stay home this year...My friends and I walk the trails up there and usually go a couple of days every year....Soon I will be doing that.

@PainsOnSlate Interesting - I wouldn't have done it in the rain either.

It poured all day so I stayed home. Its done every spring and a lot of people visit...
They keep track of migratory birds of prey and also sheds a light on some of the hawks, ospreys and vultures people can see overhead this time of year.

The rain is still here, yesterday and today. I think we have seen the sky one day in the last two weeks...scary..

The rain and cold would certainly be enough to keep me away. Hope it is a beautiful day and you get to go!

The park is close by and I usually go just to walk the trails, often there are events at the park but this last one was a nasty wet day. I will get there when its warm and dry.

Hope that the weathe cooperates. It's a windy, snowy, rainy and sunny day...talk about a mess of weather. Temperature is hovering just above freezing.
Last weekend we had a Coopers Hawk visit our Birdfeeder. That sure was a quick way to make all the other birds go into hiding.

Its not warm right now but last week we had two days of warm enough we didn't need jackets...I'm hoping it will be a nice day - if not I won't be going...I don't like to be cold...
