Work politics made me quit my JOB!!!

I'm now currently unemployed and still searching for a job at home. I don't have any experience working remotely, but I'm willing to try new things. I've been working in a BPO industry for 11 years and this time it really punched me hard to realize that I'm no longer happy with this monotonous work plus politics within your own team really sucks!!! What are your thoughts about this?

This is very true politics can lead to discaragement of employees and when they feel enough is enough they quit their jobs, personally I don't like work politics

Yeah! and you know what's the worst? your own teammates are adding toxicity on your job. Personal attacks are being fired, there are times where you start to question if there's a problem with you, perhaps you've done something wrong when all you did is to work hard to earn a living, a decent life, not much, but a simple happy life for your family.

Welcome to My Lot and hope you enjoy yourself here. Politics in a workplace is very hard to want to work there. 11 years is a long time to be at one place. You need to find something you believe you will like to do. Good luck.

It is very scary being out of your comfort zone and also starting over again. You are so welcome. I know I have been in places I hated and if could not find a job if could not stand it any longer would quit. You do not need to be unhappy in a job you hate.

@worththeque Thanks for explanation. Work in team can be hard if teammates are not so good.

@mrki444 you're right! It's like you can always take work-related criticism but if it's personal, it's hard to let it pass.

It's business process outsourcing. Focuses on customer service or outbound sales etc. outsourced to different countries.

Sorry to hear that, well it must have been better if you find a replacement job before you finally said it quits with them. Work politics is quite normal in any work environment. The thing is after you gave in to your feelings they still have their jobs and you don’t. Hope you get a good replacement after this. It would be hard then to get a recommendation from your former employer if you leave them like that unless you still get some good friends there to back you up.

Politics is everywhere. Sometimes it effect the potentials and productive employees. it is also unfair for any employees when pointer stops at a particular person. Hope you will get the better one or start up with your own ideas and create revenue to your country

Well, you have 11 years working experience. I think you could find a job soon. I prefer to do my job with a good teammate, or in other words, cooperated teamate. Luckily, I did it. I think the lucky god goes around me when I find the new job.

Work politics some times put you into depression. Some of them not able to handle and got frustrated and leads to quitting jobs.
