Hubby bought a ham

You knew that hubby brought a ham if you read my discussion about at least this time I was warned. The price dropped 40 cents per pound between when he first saw it and when he bought it. He got it for a very good price. He cut the ham from the bone, and I made pinto beans with it. That was good. We are having really good sandwiches as this ham had great flavor. I think that will be my bedtime snack.

That sounds good. I need to pick up a ham since I haven't cooked one in some time. Good idea :)

This was a fairly fresh crop of pintos I think as they cooked up really tender. Do you like cornbread?

@GardenGerty The prosciutto (cured ham) is an Italian specialty and less expensive there than here in Switzerland.

Yes, it was. Cooking with the bone adds a lot of extra nutrition, and it does really taste good.

We had ham for Easter and I had a couple of sandwiches after. I do like ham. I try not to eat too much of it though. It is one of the meats that I do like the taste.

I am trying to have variety in our meals. Hubby tends to buy sausages, but you can actually do more with ham in my opinion.

I used to buy a ham pretty regularly. You can get many meals out of it, it's a great budget stretcher.

Tony wwill buy a ham, I will cook a couple times from it and then he doesnt want it anymore, so I give it away. I refuse to buy him anymore hams, now he gets slices of ham. I try not to eat any, I want to be vegan again, I have got to get this 20 pounds off and get my sugar under control.

My sister would not be able to handle an entire ham. She will buy ham hocks for her beans if there are any in the store and ham lunch meats.
