Finally Getting in the Groove of my "Niche"

Well, it has happened! I'm finally being productive with coming up with ideas for content with my blog. It has been a long haul. I've learned that I have to reflect back on my actions to be able to improve on things. I feel it's best to think about what was learned from past mistakes and work on how to do better for the future.
In the past, I've given up many times on trying to succeed working from home. Many years ago it wasn't a problem for me to be able to find work that paid a decent wage especially since I have a lot of education and experience in my field for my resume. But times have changed. With so much more competition out there, it's not as easy to get the job. It's even more difficult to just get an interview with a company for work. So I've had to improvise.
This time I've had no choice but to find a way to earn income working from home. I'm a single mother who also has health issues that just won't allow me to be able to work a regular 9 to 5 job anymore. I was finding part time office work in the past as well, but now that's even harder to get. There's alot more competition for those part time positions due to many family oriented people wanting to be more accessible at home. So now I've been more determined than ever to succeed as a creative entrepreneur by doing freelancing gigs working from home.
I'm still working on getting my blog pretty to promote and I haven't put much more content on my blog in a while... But I do have many ideas on what to write and I will fight the fear of failure &/or rejection by just posting content even though it might not actually fit my "niche".
My niche is geared towards lifestyle... dealing with managing life as a mother with certain subtexts pertaining to special needs children (my daughter's autistic) and mental illness... Mainly just trying to be successful by focusing on having good health and reaching towards financial independence.
Any thoughts?

First I do encourage you to keep on pushing, blogging is not always easy . At times, you feel like quitting but don't quit.
Secondly, in your blog , try an avoid long post most people don't like reading a long post.
Endeavor to present your ideas in first few beginning sentence before going ahead to explain it a bit further. Finally, you need to always be there to answer peoples questions.
Finally, just keep doing your best , it will be better soon. Thanks and do have a lovely day .

I have posted articles in Hubpages with 0 views as of now. I realized my topics were too general and already saturated. It is very important to have a particular niche. I also wish to work from home but haven't found success yet. Besides my boss at my work won't allow me which is okay because I'm not yet ready to be jobless finance wise. Good luck to both of us.

@yoalldudes @kareng I heard Hubpages can have it's difficulties. I was thinking of trying them like Bitlanders, but I think I'm already overwhelmed with other sites. I don't thing I should sign up for one more website.

@kareng I just like the platform. The blogging layout (capsule style) is helpful to new bloggers. For now I'm creating content. Later on I can start promoting. GOod luck to both of us.

I know what you mean about looking for work. I am in the process of doing that, now. It's not easy. Over the years I have tried many different work from home things. i can't say any of them work. The only thing I ever made any money with was the freelance writing. That was not enough to pay the bills.
I am so happy to hear that you are coming up with ideas for your blog. I know, how difficult that can be sometimes. How to help your child with self confidence? How to help your child with their talents?

I did my fair share of network marketing. I loved The Body Shop at Home. And then they sold the division to L'Oreal. Our at-home business was closed. The only other one that I loved was Jewelry in Candles which also closed down due to the owner going through a divorce and financial difficulties. I loved my freelance days. Even though I was working full time, I would come home and write into the wee hours of the morning.

@kareng Yeah. If you're good with connecting with others, network marketing can work for you. I have some network marketing accounts but I'm not very good with them. I used to do Mary Kay and had to let that go. I'm trying to do CBD oils because it can help with health issues. I haven't gotten any profits from it yet, but I haven't really been promoting it yet. I'm just getting my feet wet into pushing my blog. I feel that there's levels to marketing and everybody has their own pace. All these internet marketers want to "sell" you their way of doing it and how it worked for them. I feel everybody's journey into anything is different and everybody will reach their level at success at their own time.

@TishaMears I agree, different strokes for different folks. People respond differently to marketing campaigns. Some may like plan a, while others will respond to plan b. It is why you should use different techniques to reach more people.

I have a blog which remain inactive. It was mainly for fun. Unfortunately I no longer have that level of enthusiasm like I had at the start of my blogging. Selecting a niche for commercial purposes is a practical strategy, but what is more important is to continually update your blog with new articles on a regular basis else prospective customers will look elsewhere.

Keep looking for freelance writing opportunities also. I used to make up to $500 a month writing while I was still working. Having a stroke in 2017 slowed me down, I retired, and had to relearn the keyboard. I still piddle with writing and miss it some days. Seeing so many here blogging is making me want to start a new one.

@TishaMears Yes, you have to know your limits and when to not cross the line or else you pay with PAIN. Or that is how it is with me anyway. Looking forward to trading tips and sites with you :)

@kareng Yes. Same here. It seems like alot of us on this site have health and pain issues. I feel that
some deal with it better than others because I would see someone who would say that they have health issues but would have much activity in a small amount of time. While I also see others cannot be online here as often due to other issues as well. I am the latter group. Trying to sit up for too long at all can be difficult at times, but I push through because I love to write and connect with others.

@kareng Yeesss!!! Do it! Start blogging again. Almost anyone who's on this site has writing in their blood. I have been looking for many freelance writing opportunities as well. It just takes time to write for others and make the deadlines with my hectic home life. I'm sorry about your health difficulties. I can definitely relate, I have many physical limitations recently as well since my slip and fall accident in 2015. It can be very frustrating to want to do something and just can't. I'm learning to accept my "new normal" and work with what I can do instead of focusing on what I cannot do. It's easier said than done, though.

I understand that niche is helpful--I work almost exclusively from home, but only about 1/3 of that is writing. The rest is teaching voice--so I can't really address the writing part of that competently--I hope you find your way--I find that in some ways, necessity is the mother of invention--meaning, sometimes I find my way because I have to--hang in there
