If I workout regularly...

... I wouldn't be feeling pain in my legs today . After walking around 12km yesterday, today I feel pain on my legs' muscles. It only means that I really need to start walking again and workout regularly. I used to walk with my mother but lately due to the bad weather, lack of free time, and other things that are a mystery to me I haven't done it as I used to. I will take yesterday as a new start and I will keep my walks and workouts. It is a promise! Do you have time for walks and workout? Picture: a group of scouts that also walked yesterday.

I am slowly getting back into my regular exercise and workout routine now that my knee is mostly healed. Walking, swimming, and cycling are all beneficial exercises to help strengthen my knee, so those are the ones that I will mainly focus on. I'm enjoying afternoon/evening walks right now, but pretty soon it will be too hot here in Florida to be walking or exercising outside.

@nela13 Even early in the morning the humidity is unbearable. Even after one minute of being outside, I would be completely drenched in sweat.

You can always walk early in the morning when the weather isn't so hot yet.

@nela13 That's true. Sometimes I end up doing too much like I did this past weekend. When that happens I end up in bed for a few days.

Whenever you use muscles you haven't used before, it always hurts. When I taught school, I walked every morning for 1 hour and 15 minutes first thing in the morning, then rushed home to shower and get ready for the day. On weekends, I walked a bit later and longer. Now, I still exercise first thing in the morning either at the gym, walk, swim, play tennis or golf, and now pickle ball. When I return up north, I plan on walking in the morning with my friends again and prefer going to the gym for dance classes and aerobic exercise in the afternoon. I also play tennis and golf, too. Exercise is so good for us, but even 30 minutes a day is okay. As they say, JUST DO IT! . Btw, I try to take a day or 2 off every once in awhile to let my body rest and recoup.

@nela13 It will get easier when the weather gets better. Of course, it's difficult when you have two young children to care for.

@DianneN my husband also needs to start walking because he has a problem in his back, so I will try to walk with him and with my mom.

It is great that you were able to wake up early to walk every day, sometimes I do it with my mom but lately it has been difficult. I wish I could do the same as you.

@nela13 Yes, it is. It's easier on your joints than walking.

I used to do some brisk walking some 3 weeks ago but had not resumed it after the long holidays. I only do slow walking of about 10 minutes a day on my way home from work,

@nela13 I think it should be more than 10 minutes but that's the most that I could get daily as there are still errands to do after work.
