Turn Back Time - Conversations With Angie

Yesterday while having to hold that handyman`s hand, so to speak, one of the old ladies was talking about if she could go back and change things she would have learned to drive, she has severe mental problems and cusses her sister so much that she no longer owns a car because she will steal the keys and "try to drive." And that is the real reason they do not have a car, although the eldest can drive and did get her license back when she was young. She asked me "What would you have done differently?" No thinking needed on my part, I said instantly " I would have never spent all my money on rental houses, I would have banked my money and moved to Hawaii." There was silence. Not even the "handyman" grunted. My uncle explained to me why they are like they are yesterday when he stopped to say hello to us at a stop sign, he is almost 80 years old, He said " they have never had to work a day in their lives, they have always gotten a check from the government, people have always gave to them, in other words, they expect people to do everything for them for free and they treat people like their personal slaves." But... I still have time to change life, I am just over 50 and I have 50 more years to go. Happy Wednesday! I feel awesome!

I wonder what kind of song it might have been if it had been entitled "Black In Time"? You have a nice government that gives people a check all their lives. Though, I think I would still prefer to earn my checks.

@andriaperry So many people think that the world and/or government owes them a living and expect everything to be paid for. It's a sad, sad world!

Me too. Even when these ladies stand they want to "lean" on something. That free money made them 100% pure lazy.

@andriaperry It seems so and they expect everything to be free. What an attitude!

Stay active friend and you will be able to handle the aging process much better. Most people can't believe I have so many conditions. I have to say that I feel much better when I'm active. Of course, that means knowing my limits and when to back off.

Do it while you still can! Take it from me...we got old too fast and didn't achieve what we wanted to do.

You have plenty of time just take each day as it comes. Funny that we have had the same thoughts. I once wanted to go to Hawaii and open a bar on the beach.

I can often think of things I would have changed, but really the point is to change our futures. I have a few good years left I am sure. I would have had a job when I was first married to my first husband, and he would have hated it.

One thing I am proud of for my sister. She never lived alone until she was 70. She got to choose her own stuff and do what she liked, in peace. She is on Social Security, she does have Medicare, Medicaid and Extra Help. If she can get to her appointments without me, she does. Her rent comes first then her bills, and she is managing rather well.

Even working and making pennies I have made on different sites, I can say whatever I made I can buy something and no one helped me. Granted it will take me a while, but I can honestly say I worked for it. Some people just expect people to give them things and then they expect more!! Hope the rest of your week is good as well!!
