Happy Friday everyone!
I’ve had a busy last two days, so spent some time yesterday morning catching up on notifications. I’m hoping to work on more today.
Wednesday we went sailing on a friend’s sailboat. I wound up getting seasick when I went below deck to help prepare lunch even after taking Dramamine. I guess I should always get a patch from my doctor. I did feel better once I returned to the deck and let the fresh air blow in my face.
Yesterday we were invited to a champagne event at my favorite store. After two glasses of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, I bought yet more cologne, but none for me. Both are being shipped to my daughters-in-law and one was for my husband. My friend at the store gave the cologne for my husband gratis for being her friend and a good customer. She also is shipping me a cologne for free. She and another saleswoman loaded me up with wonderful samples and a yoga mat.
I bought a pair of sandals and a pair of boots for walking Doodles in my yard. Those are being shipped to my son’s house, and he will drop them off at my house for my return to the north next month.
My day of shopping ended with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. We had reservations and got the one and only window table - my personal favorite place to sit and people watch.
And now to myLot!

One month left? I've gotten used to you being in Florida. That was great of the sales clerks to do that for you. I'm sure Doodles will like his boots.
Being seasick is a good excuse not to get a boat. I know you were trying to talk your husband out of buying one. I hope you succeeded.
My best place for people watching is my office window. We don't have outdoor patios. I wish we did. Oh well. Have a fantastic Friday. I know it's Date Night. Lucky you!

The time in Florida has flown by, but as much as I love it here, I can't wait to see my family and Doodles. I already wore through 2 pair of boots thanks to him.
After our sail, my husband started in about looking for a boat again. Actually, he starts up again daily, but I put my foot down. lol
Have a great day yourself, Val!

You needed all that fun shopping, after your earlier sea sickness! I mentioned this on here before, but we went on a whale watching trip one time..and my friend was the only one on the whole boat who was sick..he spent almost the whole time below deck!

@DianneN He just couldn't take it up on the deck. He was throwing up so he wanted to be close to the bathrooms.

Below deck is the worst place to be when seasick. On our first cruise, I woke up in the morning and got ready for breakfast. When the waiter served my breakfast, I got nauseas and left my husband to eat alone. I crawled into bed with my makeup and clothes, and decided that is where I would be happy spending the entire week. My husband spoke to someone who told me to get on deck and get fresh air. It took me forever, but after getting my sea legs, I was fine for the rest of the trip. More than half the dining rooms were empty for days, but I was good! We did have an El Nino which created 12 foot waves. I learned my lesson and have gotten the patch for every cruise thereafter. I guess I need it for small boats, too.

You have been busy I finally got caught up on notifications until all these storms started rolling through and knocking the internet offline or the electricity going out so I have been challenged with keeping up. Kudos on your bid sales you hit.

Oh no, so sorry to hear you got seasick! I'm one of the lucky ones in my family who has never gotten seasick before. I still remember my very first time on a boat out in the ocean, everybody else got seasick but I was having the time of my life!
{and that was before the boat even left the dock! LOL}

@DianneN It was the first time in my life I ever saw someone turn green from being seasick. I mean, this dude literally turned green. I was kind of freaked out because I was only like 12 or 13 at the time.

@jvicentevalera Yes, we use all those words, depending on whom we are speaking to and the context. Remember, America is a melting pot of many different nationalities and cultures. Adios! lol

@DianneN Yeah, free is my favorite word, LOL. Dianne, I wonder do you guys usually use the word "gratis" to refer to free stuff? I ask you, because once I saw in an American series that the people used to use some Spanish words, like "nada" to refer "nothing" or "persona" when referin one's image.

I don't get seasick as long as I'm topside. Put me in a warm, confined space and I feel like crap! Sounds like you had fun! Hugs.
