Do You Use a Shopping List?

I will be the first to admit that I use a shopping list for just about all of my grocery store shopping. Even with a list, I often forget an item or two. I find that I'm forgetful and when I get inside the store I forget what I really need, what I have on hand or something new that I need to pick up. What makes me really mad is when I forget the one item that I really need or made the trip to the store to begin with. Hence, my all-time grocery shopping list that I now count on and carry with me inside the store. I sometimes go as far as to check off the items when I put them in my grocery cart, but most of the time I do not. Do you use a grocery shopping list? And if so, is it an all-time thing to do, or just on occasion?

I try to buy things from the list, but I do not succeed, I always buy some more stuff through the list ... or something I forget, it happens

I'm pretty good about sticking to my list. I will go for something on sale if I run across it though.

@LowRiderX Yes, it does become a habit. And you have to use it and like it for it to make its way into a habit.

Because the items don't run out simultaneously, I need to write a shopping list on paper.

I don't like staying outside for so long since I want to stay at home for the rest of my hours and take a rest! So yeah! I have a shopping list so that I can buy everything faster then go home immediately Oh I love my bed.

I agree, a list speeds up the shopping quite a bit for me.

@kareng Yeah! It's faster than other, I just don't want to have a shopping list when I'm with my girlfriend because I know there's a lot of things will be added on the list since she loves shopping

Yes, I do. I am like you. I make a list and when I am in the shop, I only check on my list if I have not forgotten any item.

I would have to have mine in one place..ha. I could see lots of duplications if I tried to use two.

I remember when I could go to a store and remember why I came! But that hasn't been recently. So now I take a list.

Oh goodness. I have gone before and forgotten the MAIN thing I went for to begin with. That is annoying.

I try to use a list, but only to keep track of my spending while in the store. If there is a one-off item that I need, I will write it on that little scratch of paper so that I don't forget.

I've used them, but not often. I'll write it down as I run out of the item, but I usually forget the list at home.

My husband does all the shopping now; but when I did I always made up a list based on what was on sale and what I needed.

When kids were smaller I always planned meals on what was on sale. My oldest daughter was a gymnast and had an appetite like a football player.

Yes I do. But not everytime though. Only when there are lot of things to be brought. List helps a lot. That list can save you an extra ride to the store if you forget something, save your time, money and energy. So why not!

I agree. The list has saved me several times on things that I would have forgotten. I have learned to also organize my list with all like items that are on the same aisle or section together. This saves time too.
