Over the weekend my husband and I decided to marathon Backdraft since the second one came out. The double movie pack was my anniversary gift to him.
It’s amazing what you catch on to when you haven’t watched it for like ten years.
I’ve always loved fire. It’s beautiful even though destructive. In the movie, they treat it like a living thing and it’s beautiful.
The Macaffery’s come from a line of firefighters. Stephen and Brian’s grandfather was a firefighter am so was their dad.
When Brian was a kid he made front page news because he stood in front of a building and watched his father die while saving his best friend.
Years later, the siblings are battling, not talking to each other except for cruel words. Stephen followed the family line and became a firefighter. Station 17 is the best out there now. Brian tried many things in life before he decided he had to know if he could do the job.
It’s hard to do anything when everyone expects you to fail. Not to mention the corruption that’s going on under their noses. To go with the corruption, there’s an arsonist that’s targeting specific people with backdrafts.
My favorite character will always be Donald Sutherland’s. He plays a pyromaniac that got caught and he’s quite out there but does it so well. He was my favorite when I first watched and he’s my favorite now.
I like this movie but it’s not one I can watch often because it makes me cry. I’d recommend this movie just get the tissues ready lol.
The picture came from google.
