new coke re-rears it's ugly head..

WHY would they bring that garbage back? i guess they're hoping the snowflakes will like it.. the news said today coca-cola is gonna put out a limited re-release to tie in with some movie or tv series. for those who weren't born yet-years ago, sometime in the 80's,coca-cola decided for some reason to change it's formula-to "new coke"..and promptly changed a formula that worked.just changed it.don't like it? too bad.that was the option. well,i didn't like it. it was like RC cola..flat..and left out in the sun for a week. awful. i drank nothing but sprite or dr.pepper til they changed it back. people went crazy trying to buy up leftover old coke at crazy prices. eventually, they got a clue..were making new and old briefly at the same time.. then "new" disappeared. and they should have burned the formula.yuck. some things should never have a revival.

Will this be the same "New Coke" formula we had to suffer through years ago?

The entire soft drink industry has been hurting for some years with lack of sales. People are opting for energy drinks and flavored waters, juices, coffee drinks and the like. They will try anything to attract someone to their products...thus, the reason the market is flooded with all sorts of new flavor combinations and what not. I don't think this particular one will sell any better than it did back in the day, but who knows?

My theory is (as t was back in the day) that they're just trying to draw attention to the brand.

I'm with you. Diet tastes like...fake sweetener. And Lite...I haven't dared try it. I'm a classic Coke head.

@scarlet_woman I'm not surprised. Some of the chemicals used in some diet beverages are also used in rocket fuel. I just want a regular ol' Coke once or twice a week. If I die early, the years I lose will be those in my 90s...

I never liked any of the coke to drink. The new or the old. I used to like pepsi because to me it has a lighter fresher taste.

I did see they were doing that! An 80's event that was a big failure. I actually switched from Coke because of that formula. If it ain't broke, don't mess with it

I remember when they did that. The "new" stuff was too sweet and tasted like Pepsi to me. We all assumed it was a publicity stunt. Maybe it is this time as well, a generation later. Many of today's soda pop drinkers weren't alive the last time they did it.
