@caroldm I do so agree. It reminds me of one of the many times I was summoned to my son’s school on account of his behaviour. This time he stood accused of being extremely disrespectful to a teacher. When asked why he said, “You always say respect has to be earned and when she earns it I’ll give it, and anyway she doesn’t know how to teach”. I was so embarrassed and the principal didn’t know what to say.

Well that is one way to look at it, and I heard that often as well. But I have encountered people who showed me nothing but disrespect and I decided to rise above and be myself without staying at their level and showed them respect, then walked away.

Great quote! I've tried to always practice this too. I'll admit though, it hasn't been easy to show respect to a few people I've known.
