If you ordered a lot of food and you can’t even finish them.
One time when I was still working as an agent in a Call Center agent way back. It was our payday so I treat myself after work. I have no boyfriend that time so I’m taking advantage of my own.
A friend of mine asked me to go out with her and pigging out. I end up my work while she said she will follow me after her call. So I went to that restaurant near our building alone, check their menu. They have new food which are so tasty in the picture. What I did since I’m so hungry, I ordered foods, 3 kinds of them. At first I tried to eat a little until I finish the first one. But no friend follow there. So I eat the second one, but unfortunately I could not finish the second one as well as the 3rd one. I don’t know what to do. It would be a waste of money or food if I’m not going to eat them all. Got panic. I called my friend who promised me to follow, she said she went home directly and forgot about it. It was total dump!
Then I saw a beggar outside. What I did, I have the food wrap for take out. And gave it to them outside. I feel kind of relief and good for giving that food to the one who needs it most.
Do you experience this?

Because I love food, I always end up with a clean plate. I would also do the same if I were in the same situation you had.

Well another option would be to bring it home and have your folks eat it too. I think they would be happy to get a taste of the food. But what you did was also good since you help someone from alleviating their hunger for the day. I think that is one good deed you have done with them.

I generally avoid ordering too much. If it is left, we take it home to be used later or give it to someone needy.

It's very rare that I order more than I can eat when out at a restaurant. I will usually order one or two dishes. If we have a takeaway/delivery then I might order more, especially when we have Chinese food. The portions are always quite large, and we like to try different things. Sometimes, we will save the left-overs to have the next day but I have also taken some to give to homeless people when I knew we wouldn't finish the food. It is certainly much better than it going to waste. If I've paid for it anyway, I'd rather it be eaten than not.

When I lived in another city, I often walked to the project site as it is not a long way. I saw a couple of people sitting at the side of the road. Looking at his very dirty clothes, I knew he was a kind of crazy person who didn't care about himself. I thought he was also a human who needed food and drink. So, next time I bought him bread and drink and gave it to him.

I usually ask the restaurant to wrap it and take it home.

Yes that was a great idea. You are so right it is hard to waste food and money when we order too much and can’t eat it all. Usually I just take my food home if I wasn’t able to eat it all. I’m glad you were able to help those out who needed it
