Waiting for my friend to come for a chit-chat :)

I'm glad and as I type this I'm waiting for my neighbor to come home. She is celebrating Eid today.. and her visit to my home was planned last week. She said she will get me some signature sweet that they do on this day.
And I've prepared for the chit-chat too. Some salads with cucumber and a dish/ snack with poha. I'm adding few macroons and potato crisps to the plate too.
I'm just thrilled as it's the first time some one coming home as we are new to this place.

They prepare Khubani Ka Meetha on the day of Id as a Signature Sweet along with the Biryani and other Non Veg Dishes! I have got a few Muslim friends here in India and I receive the same from them! I am not sure if Sewai is having importance in Id Ul Phitr or not! I am confused!

@smileyhema , Yes, the illiterate Muslims have two Ids one is Bakra Id and Another is Sewai Id!

Yeah you're right =) The sweet was amazing.
That's a good thought to explore. I hope there must be some reason for them to use the Sewai.

Aww, that is really nice you get to take your neighbor to the park and network. :) Hopefully there are other kids around your daughters age so they can hang out and play, perhaps a play date?

Yeah. It's really interesting to meet new folks in our apartment. I take my daughter to the park and that's how I get introduced to new people. I love to do lot of networking and I surely enjoy that.
Yeah I understand. I hope you're new to the place. Correct? So, once you've your home set, you will find good time with your neighbors.

@infatuatedbby : Mmmh, not really. We're just trying to introduce to many people here. But, as of now, the kids are either very much elder to Mayuri or those little babies on a stroller. :-)
I hope she gets many friends of her age in the near future. And I like the idea of play date.. We would definitely give a try, once we have the perfect group over here. Thanks for the idea.

It is with Poha or flattened/ beatened rice. We call that as "Poha Upma" and it's bit easy to prepare. You will have to sauté mustard seeds with split Black gram, split Bengal gram, peanut, green chili, ginger, turmeric powder, salt at first. And then add, soaked poha and grated coconut in it and fry for a while. =)
