For How Long Do You Take the Afternoon Nap?

Yesterday , it was a busy day for me and hubby. It’s a legal holiday, being it Ed’l Feitr, so hubby and the helper , went up the roof to put some sealant on those leaking parts. As for me, I cooked and cleaned the bedroom. We both were tired , so at 2:00 p.m. both of us took our long naps. We woke up past 4:00 p.m. It was so nice because when we woke up we felt reinvigorated, specially after we have taken our snacks. It was a good way to spend a holiday – just at home, did some chores , napped and bonded with hubby, looking at funny videos in my hubby’s laptop. For those who are working, do you like spending your holiday , doing some chores and napping? I suppose for those stay at homes, they always do take a nap, which is a privilege for me and I suppose to most working people. For how long do you take your afternoon nap? Napping , as mentioned by health experts can add to a person’s longevity. Note: Picture is from google

I envy you guys, that you can nap that much. Although, I also get to nap that much one time, when it was a Sunday and I came from our team building which was tiring because we slept late the first night we arrive at the beach and the next day was team building almost the whole day in the hot day.

@mrki444 Good for you. I guess, that's because you are still so young, that is why sleep isn;t a problem yet, unlike me.

I haven’t napped much since we left Florida. Only once and that was for about 30 minutes.

I think that's because you have enough sleep, so you don't nap. I only nap, when one weekdays I only get 6 or less hours of sleep each day. I cannot deny my eyes , when on a Saturday it is so heavy already in the morning.

Even though we had a holiday yesterday, we could not sleep in day time. We are so busy with some works at home, rearranging the positions of Almirah and beds, then cleaning. It took much time. So had lunch at 3 pm by that time Cricket started so TV was on and could not sleep.

Is your holiday because of Edl Feitr. Did I spell it right. Yes, sometimes when I am at home, I cannot nap because I am busy cleaning our bedroom. Though, I would lie down to rest while hubby sleep my mind would be anxious that I will clean the bedroom once hubby wakes up and would go to the dining room to snack or whatever.

I don't often take naps. Sometimes, I will if I'm not feeling well or just really exhausted.

@SIMPLYD I do sometimes get sleepy, but I don't often get the chance to nap, and I've never been much of a nap person. I will nap on the rare occasion, but that's about it.

Why, you don't like to or maybe you aren't sleepy at all in the afternoon. It means that you have enough sleep.

I’m home almost all the time but I don’t take naps. I prefer the 8-10 hr sleep without interruption. I feel more energized that way.

I understand. I felt the same when I was still part of the corporate world. Five more minutes of sleep mattered to me so much back then.

If I also have my way, I won't take a nap. However, I need it because I always lack sleep since I have trouble sleeping early at night. Then , I have to wake up at 5:00 to prepare for work.

Good for you because you can do I always take a nap, in the office. It's a power nap only for most of the times 15 minutes and sometimes 30 minutes. However, I noticed that if it is for 30 minutes or more, I will sleep late in the evening.

Don't you have break times? Me, I get to nap for 15-30 minutes during our one hour lunch break. They call it power nap. I feel so ready to work and not sleepy at all after taking my power nap.

@SIMPLYD I take a break when I want at work and usually it is just 5-10 minutes. If I took a nap at work I would wake up an hour later and not want to work.

@SIMPLYD I take a nap every day in the afternoon for 45 minutes to an hour. I rest after chores in morning and afternoon. This nap rejuvenates me for evening and other work that need to be handled.

Good for you that you can take a nap on a free day for that long. Me, during office days , I take a power nap for only 20 minutes. That already reinvigorates me. But on weekends I can take a nap for about 2 hours or more.

I have read that we have actually two patterns of sleep. One at night which is what we all do and that of the afternoon nap. I usually nap at 3:00 p.m on holidays when I so lack of sleep.

I generally don't take naps. But once in awhile I "pass out" in the late afternoon for a couple of hours. I wake up feeling confused about what day it is.

I think that's because you have enough hours of sleep while he lacks it. I also don't nap when I have enough of sleep. I only do when I am really lacking of it.

I have trouble sleeping so napping is a luxury. When I was younger I could nap for three hours. Sometimes, when I arrive home from university, I would skip lunch. Change clothes and hit the bed. I would sleep from noon til' evening. I would wake up before dinner time sometimes. I miss those days.

Yes, when one is young sleep is abundant. It is so easy to fall asleep. I also have problem sleeping early , even if I want to. So I lack sleep on weekdays because I should awaken at 5:00 a.m. to prepare for work.
