How’s everyone doing? Do you do any boxes or deliveries like this one? I set myself up for once every other week for this box of inexpensive and oddly shaped produce. You have the ability to customize it, but of course I forgot to do that this week. Yet, I got some cool stuff:
-grape tomatoes
-a bunch of asparagus
-a bunch of romaine lettuce
-3 beets
-3 carrots
-2 yellow onions
-3 yellow squash
-a bunch of radishes
Possibly some things I have missed. I am getting a little sick of beets, only becuasr all I know how to do with them is bake them with some thyme with the carrots, which turns out alright. Not the most inspiring or interesting, but it is what it is. I am excited for the rest, however and to cook up some asparagus! Nom.
Have you got anything like this on the mail or anything interesting lately?

We don't have boxes, but farmers in my neighborhood (small Japanese garden farms) sell their pretty produce to companies and their funny-looking stuff to neighbors for cheap. They have a little stand on their property called an "honor box" because they trust you to be honorable and put your coin in the box when you take something.

Before I used to do like that when I am overseas but now since I am close to the market then I just pick them up myself.

no, we don't since the market and grocery are both walking distance from here.
is the reason they're inexpensive is because they're imperfect? they all look good to me.

No I never do anything like that - partly because I don't have such a strict routine so one week I might need more food and another, less. And also because I grow some vegetables so then I need to eat whatever's in the garden (or in the freezer, to make space for what's next from the garden!)
I do recommend beetroot and chocolate cake though!
