Again! It is not new to me that we have a bomb alarm here where I live. The bombs were the remnants of the 2nd World War thrown by the allies (American or British army).
Every time a new building is built, the workers have to inspect if there are bombs under the ground which are not defused, yet. Then they make the scheduled time for defusing the bomb and let the people know especially those who are living nearby.
Without my WhatsApp group chat with my friends, I would not know. One of my friends sent the warning notice letter to the public, to our group chat. One of my friends who live just near the bomb was located, was a bit panic. It was not a scheduled bomb alarm for defusing the bomb as they have just found out a few hours ago. It was an emergency. Gladfully, the bomb is defused now. Thank God it did not explode. Nobody is hurt, thanks to the experts.
Do you live in a city where bombs from the WW2 are usually found?
The photo has nothing to do with this discussion. This is the photo of my French macarons with chocolate ganache.

Not so much bombs but when my neighbour cleared out her shed she found several batches of old explosives. Her in-laws had run a quarrying business. She had to get the police and army to come and take them away and get rid of them safely.

It's amazing that they are still finding them. Hopefully one day they will all be found.

then in other places, they find bones of people or pieces of porcelain, clay pots, etc from ancient times. it reminds you how many generations of people and cultures have passed
so you finally finished the macarons. i guess your hubby and son will share it since you seem to be allergic to the almond flour you used.

I agree @hereandthere. That is fascinating to find those things people have used in the middle ages and ancient times. Yes, my hubby and son are eating them. I will bring some to our picnic tomorrow so my friends and their kids can eat them. Thanks.

Could such 70 years plus bombs also explode?
Don't they lose their lethal ability?
And when I saw the picture, I thought as to why are the bombs in shape of cookies!

Not here in Switzerland, but in Milan, where I was born, they find old WWII bombs all the time. There was even one in the backyard of the building where my mom lived. They found it when they remodeled the garage area. Your macarons look good.

@thelme55 In the beginning Milan was bombed by the German army, but later we got most bombs from British and American allies. They wanted to stop Germans and their bombs killed thousands of Milanese civilians. Exactly what happens now in Syria.

Yes, it's very alarming that 9 vintage bombs were found by the workers inside the sugarcane plantation. The bomb disposal of the army responded the call and then alarmed the people living nearby. The bombs were detonated successfully.

@thelme55 In the Philippines. I forgot to get a copy of the bomb picture posted in the social media. If I could have it, I will feature here and write something about it.

I wonder how many are still out there waiting to be found. And no, we haven't any around here!

I wonder about that, too @Hate2Iron. Since I arrived here in the '80s, many are found already. I couldn´t count them anymore.
