“Is it FUN to be soaking WET from the RAIN?”

During my childhood years, my siblings and I used to take a bath under the rainy weather. I cannot deny this fact since it is also done by other Filipinos’ families. Of course, we never dared to do it on the road. Luckily, we have a backyard that we can jump in puddles and be soaked wet under the rain. “Have you tried taking a bath under the rain?” “Do you miss something in the past that wanted to do it again?” Image Credit: dailytimes.com.pk

My ex-wife would put on her bathing suit and run in the rain. I never did that but she had fun.

@db20747 I love it but I want to have good boots, a raincoat and a big umbrella. Then, I'm singing in the rain!

I was never allowed to go out in the rain and be soaked. Let alone bathe. Then again, it does not rain often here.

I do think that some parents don't allow their kiddies to do this. I am sure they have their own reasons.

Yes, it is fun, especially for the kids. However, usually the elders won't allow it. They say it is easy to lead to have a cold

Nah. Unless you allow yourself to get extra cold and lower your body's defenses, rain won't cause a cold any more than swimming will.

Some elders do say the same thing. That's the reason why they always asked a kid to take a bath right away if being wet by the rain.

I always loved being out in a summer rain and getting soaked to the skin. Unless there was lightning. Then, no. I have no problem with anyone showering in the rain. Nature's bathing the earth. Why not you, too?

You have a point there. I don't think it is safe to get wet if there is lightning.

I love taking bath on rain when I was young, but there are times that my mom doesn't allow me because it can make me sick

I do agree that most parents will say about the sickness part. During my school days, I am a hardheaded young one and don't want to bring an umbrella. Thus, I need to take a bath as soon as I arrived home.

Yeah. Many a times, my cousins and I have tried to drench and dance in rain. But, as you know, elders will come and chase us, for the fact that it could cause cold and fever. Given a chance, we'd always tried to escape to the rain lord. :-) Good pleasant memories..

@smileyhema Sometimes I felt bad with younger kiddies with parents who replace their care with these modern gadgets. They made them as their kids' nanny.

@Shavkat Nicely put! They have just the digital experience. It's like they are exposed to everything, even cricket - but not the actual game.. it's online.. They miss the real feel. Sad!

Yeah I remember those days but nowadays when you do that you would usually catch colds or cough and worse is fever. But I remember that during the month of May at the first rain falls we were allowed back then. It said it has healing effect but I doubt if that is true.

@Shavkat Yeah that was the common belief by my grandparents that the first rains of May is the healing ones that is why I can see a a lot of kids would play and frolic in the rains when the first rains of May comes. I also had the chance to experience it back then and May's first rains are really strong back then. Nowadays May's rain are very little that it creates more humidity and can cause you to feel uneasy and at times unwell.

@rsa101 It seems that elders have heaps in common with such beliefs. I think they do have healing power. It can still be effective if we believe about it.

It is my first time to hear about the healing part. I do think it is not good to do this these days. For the reason that we are experiencing air pollution.
