Thank you to all those who responded with such support on my previous post advising of my husband's hospitalisation. It's Day 18 now and he has stabilised and is now moving forward with recovery. In a few days he hopes to be moved to the rehabilitation ward. So all is going well for now.
Charlie doesn't think so though. He misses his Daddy and is not sure what is going on, even more so since our son has returned home for a while. There's a man in the house, but not the right one!
Hopefully it will only be a few more weeks until my husband is able to return home and, in Charlie's eyes, all will be well again.

@valmnz ya ne'er know, may be o'erwhelmed with joy, 'r cautious. i know when i'd been gone fer several weeks, the resident cat 'twas 't first 'xcited 'n then most aloof 't seemed? took 'er a few weeks to warm back'p to me. i figured such to be punishment fer what she considered abandonment. 'd the same with the horses.

Sorry to hear that he is still in hospital Val., I bet he is glad to see you when you turn up. Lets hope that it is not too long before he is back where he belongs! Good luck with your swimming practice and hope the cat is not too unsettled!

I am sadden to hear of your husbands hospitalization. It is a relief to hear that he is now stabilized and moving towards recovery. He and your family are in my prayers. Poor Charlie, he knows somethings wrong but doesn't know what. They do mourn miss us when we suddenly disappear. I wonder what is going through his mind.

when my husband was in the hospital for a month, our 3 were quite upset.
he'd talk to the youngest via the phone,it seemed to cheer her up.

Glad that your husband makes a remarkable recovery ! The expression in Charlie 's eyes appears to ask "where has Daddy gone to ?"
