It Was A Double Wedding

I was going through some of my mother's things and came across a lot of old photographs. Among them was her wedding album. My mother and my sister were married on the same day. My sister is the second child of my father's first marriage. She is the bride on the lest and my mother is on the right. My sister is 20 years old and my mother is 33. My father was 43. It was July 2, 1949. My sister's husband Frank is to her right.
I lost both my sister and my mother in 2018, they died only a few months from each other. My mother was 103 and my sister was 89.
I am not quite sure why they decided to have a double wedding but it does make for a great picture.

@BelleStarr She had a long life. you had your mom and sister longer than most of us do. They both lived to a good age. Not that we won't always miss our loved ones.

It's true, it is hard to believe that it is almost 70 years ago, all the people in the photo have passed.

Interesting !A mother and her step daughter getting married on a same day is few and far between.Both your mother and your sister lived to a great age.

That is such a strikingly beautiful photo. I thought that the brides were sisters.
I'm sure that you will find comfort in looking at this photo in the years to come, especially when you want to remember them on their anniversaries, and times like that.

Yes she did and the vast majority of that was really good, it was only the last 5 years that were not so great.
