"Would YOU like to CHANGE your NAME?"

I am feeling so weird with one of my online students. She always changes her English name. As far as I could remember, she had changed four times now. I find it weird for a Chinese student to keep on changing her English name. The good thing is I am not confused about teaching her. I hope she is not having a split personality.
I didn't change my username here. It cannot be denied that it is my best pal's name in Tajikistan.
"Do like your given name?"
"Do you have a nickname?"
"What's the story of your username?"

@allknowing I hope it is not based on personality. Some people give names based on this matter.

Maybe she's young and doesn't have a definite identity for herself i think.

@Shavkat I don't like those fb friends who keep changing their names and so I deleted them from my fb account. I want to know who my friends are and I don't like changes. I usually get surprised when I encounter a new name as my friend. They made me headache so I deleted them. See, I keep negative people away from me.

@chicnthin I think your username is unique. I thought of changing it before. But it is not practical to do it. In fact, I just came back home from abroad and some introduced myLot to me. Since I wanted to remember my best friend from Tajikistan, I decided to use his name.

@Shavkat I like my username and it's the one I use on other sites as well to easily recognize by others. I actually don't remember how I came up with this username

Poor child. Could be fear, privacy is important.
I, however, have nothing to be hacked for. Ha ha,. That's my name, no avatar, no pseudonym, no alias.

@Shavkat May I refrain from commenting? At this point, someone said 45K Chinese militia has been scattered in the islands. I am really angry.

@eileenleyva I read about it. I do think it is not good for them to do this. I hope the people in the government should do something about this concern.

The truth is these Chinse students are secured with their English names. For the reason that the virtual teachers don't know their real Chinese names. I am suspecting that this particular student is a bad one.
If I can turn back time, I would use my late father's nickname. I wanted to remember him. It is a good thing that you used your real given name.

Her real name or user name. It's China and they weird as a country as not very nice. Could be a reason behind it to protect herself from forces bigger than her.

I like my given name, I would never change it. My username here is from my nickname that my sister gave me when we were kids.

@LowRiderX I also have the same feeling. I am a tad hesitant to use my real name here. In fact, it is on this site that I started to write.

There are many reasons why people change their name as the case may be either personal or confidential matter.

@Nakitakona I think it is also cool that some people changed their identity for safety reasons.

I've never changed my username on here. Its origins were something to do with a combination of nicknames for my eldest son and his father when we were together.
Perhaps your student does have a split personality and changes her name accordingly. Maybe she gets bored or, perhaps, just hasn't quite decided what she wants to be called yet so is experimenting to see what she likes.
As I said, my name has never changed on here. I don't think I've changed usernames anywhere other than on Facebook. Even then, I went from my full name to the shortened version by which I'm known. I have different names for different things, though. Some places, I will use my real name. Usernames are often either something like the one I have here or some version of my author name (which is Sapphire Magpie Ravenclaw).

@Shavkat I think I have heard of Virily but not Tuetego. I used to try various sites but then there were so many, each with different rules, and so many kept changing. I just couldn't keep up! I used to be on Bubblews before that closed. Foolishly, I didn't save everything from there so I lost a lot of work. The same thing happened with Helium. Now, I write on my own blog and for Vocal Media. I also make sure I save my work in other places too!

@pumpkinjam I can feel you about working on Bubblews and Helium. I lost my articles on these sites, too. The Bubblews owe me big time. I wasn't able to have my last payment.
I haven't heard about Vocal Media. I am intrigued by it. How can we work on this site?

I think you shouldn't change it, my friend. If you do, I will not able to recognize you if ever there is another writing site to join in. I also feeling chuffed that some myLotters can recognize me on Virily and Tuetego. You can try these legit sites, too.
With regards to my student, I think she is one of the students who are scoring the virtual teachers online. She tends to be playing during the class session. As for me, I ignored it and thinking that it was being paid.

I am not good at remembering names so I always use either similar or familiar acronyms that I can easily remember. The username I used in here is the initials of my name middle name and surname. Those numbers are random numbers where 101 is a very common combinations I see around.

Time runs so fast. I also started to write online here on myLot. It has been 7 years that I signed up here. I am grateful that my old friend introduced this. Unfortunately, he is not active here in years now. I used my best pal's name in Tajikistan as my username to remember him.
