Water Fasting

Last year I was looking for so many ways on how to lose weight. When I was pregnant, I actually lost A LOT OF WEIGHT. It was amazing. But after my son being born, my weight has fluctuated. I LOVE eating, with all my heart. And then I came across water fasting. When I tried it, it was difficult, of course. But I eventually made it to seven days, and oh my goodness. I lost so much weight. 2 months ago, I made it to 15 days! It was amazing! I felt so light and my mind felt lighter as well! The thing is, I wish I didn’t stop there. I’ve been trying to get back to water fasting. The new goal is 30 days, but as much as I’ve tried going back, it’s so hard! Water fasting to me became more than just losing weight. It’s about healing myself, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. And I wish I could just stick with it. I’m trying one meal a day to help myself. Once August gets here, I’m gonna switch to a water fast. Even my husband is disappointed in me, because I keep backing out. It’s really hard man. But I remind myself that I’m only human. Honestly though, water fasting is a miracle. Have you guys tried it before?

@AshaSingh0223 What exactly is water fasting? I am glad you lost all that weight. That is interesting when you were pregnant you lost weight instead of gaining it?

@AshaSingh0223 I was fasting yesterday because it starts a period of time in Judaism where we mourn our Temples that were destroyed in Israel and other things that happened and I have not eaten 3 meals a day in a long time. I cannot eat at night anymore. After my 2nd meal I take medication and do not eat after that. If you say it is not dangerous then I believe you. How long are you on the water fasting? I understand why you lost weight during your pregnancy. I fast for my religion. We have two major fast days in Judaism. Both of those days we start fasting the night before and finish the next night. Those that cannot fast will eat. I can fast unless I am sick. One of the fasts is in around October every year and the other will be in 3 weeks.

The reason being for the weight loss during my pregnancy was just mainly because I threw up so much. Everything I craved and ate, I threw up. I should have mentioned that, I'm sorry. Other than that. Water fasting is just drinking only water and nothing else. No eating at all. At first it sounds very dangerous, but trust me, it's not. We've been conditioned to eat, 3 meals a day, when in fact, we really don't need to do that all. Fasting helps reset your body, and getting deeper into, it heals you. Honestly, fasting is such an amazing thing. Especially the benefits.

It doesn't sound too healthy to me. I believe in eating no more calories than your body can burn along with exercise. You need your strength for your baby.

Don't worry, I didn't water fast during my pregnancy. I discovered water fasting afterwards. But yes, many people will say that. But trust me, after doing a lot of research, water fasting has many many benefits.

The most guaranteed way of losing weight is walking 15000 steps daily. When you've lost weight, maintain the weight by walking 10000 steps daily. Diet or fasting will only put the weight back.

@AshaSingh0223 Perhaps cleansing is better than fasting. Detoxify the body and healthy eating follows.

Oh yes, definitely. The thing is, it's very important what you put in your body as well. Fasting helps to basically reset your system. Taking out all the bad put in. Then you can start eating better and whatnot.

Trust me man, I feel you! It's sooo hard. How it worked for me before was I had a goal in mind, and I kept reminding myself why I was doing it. I wish it was working for me to do that now, haha. But it's okay, soon!

Water fasting is basically drinking only water. You can incorporate green tea, which is what I do to help suppress hunger. It may sound crazy and whatnot but water fasting is actually really good for you.

@sophie09 No, not at all. And it sounds crazy, I know. But trust me, it's good for you. It helps heal, cleanse and reset your body. The benefits are amazing! Committing can be hard, especially when you're a foodie like myself, but man. It's crazy.
