I think you can put them all into categories when having your own blog.

On this site you can just write small articles of your interest; comment/respond on other articles and start earning

MyLot is basically a blog. I’ve never created one.

I say you need to take time to analyze things, or what really your passion is. making a blog is quite fun yet its full of challenges and obstacles. The idea and concept needs to come from within

First focus on some specific topic like Music/Photography/Technology and then diversify.

If you are talking here then just write what on topic of your interest.

Where are you trying to make your blog?

The best bloggers write about things they are passionate about. They also spend time reading and commenting on other blogs with the same subject. They spend time promoting their own blogs. Just general blogs don't do well unless they are clever.
