It seems the City of Baguio is implementing a smoke-free ordinance. It is an ordinance that prohibits the selling of cigarettes or vapes within the city. Personally, it is a good thing to stop smokers to smoke or vape in public. But then, it is an extreme act for smokers to stop smoking or vaping abruptly. I am not sure if the city officials are aware that withdrawal from nicotine needs to be considered here. It would be nice if the city has the facility in catering the smokers’ withdrawal and provide nicotine patches in helping smokers to sober.
‘Do you think that it is humane to stop smokers to smoke or vape abruptly?’

We have no smoking laws here. Most public places indicate where people can smoke as they know not everyone will quit just because it's against the law to smoke in public places. They can't smoke anywhere inside, but they can find a place outside to smoke.

My mother would not like that. I have been trying to get her to stop smoking for many years. She has been vaping now, but occasionally she still smokes. I would love for her to stop completely.

There should be designated areas for smokers or vapers, that banning altogether won't work.

This is not a campaign to stop smoking or vaping. It's limited to public places. I think there's a designated place for smokers.

Maybe they just mean "stop smoking or vaping in the public places in the city" so you can still smoke or vape in your house
